Nonhumidified fuel cell using N-ethyl-N-methylpyrrolidinium fluorohydrogenate ionic liquid–polymer composite membranes

Journal of Power Sources, 2012
Abstract Composite membranes consisting of EMPyr(FH) 1.7 F (EMPyr =  N -ethyl- N -methylpyrrolidinium) ionic liquid and hydroxyethylmethacrylate (HEMA) polymer (EMPyr(FH) 1.7 F/HEMA monomer = 7:3, 8:2, and 9:1 in molar ratios) were prepared as electrolytes for a nonhumidified fuel cell.

Manipulation of Electrode Composition for Effective Water Management in Fuel Cells Fed with an Electrically Rechargeable Liquid Fuel

ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2022
The liquid fuel cell, with its high energy density and ease of fuel handling, has attracted great attention worldwide. However, its real application is still being greatly hindered by its limited power density. Hence, the recently proposed and demonstrated fuel cell, using an electrically rechargeable liquid fuel (e-fuel), is believed to be a candidate

Fuel Composition Effects on Forced Ignition of Liquid Fuel Sprays

Volume 4B: Combustion, Fuels, and Emissions, 2018
In gas turbine combustors, ignition is achieved by using sparks from igniters to start a flame. The process of sparks interacting with fuel/air mixture and creating self-sustained flames is termed forced ignition. Physical and chemical properties of a liquid fuel can influence forced ignition.

Vapor and Liquid Composition Differences Resulting from Fuel Evaporation

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1999
<div class="htmlview paragraph">Liquid fuels and the fuel vapors in equilibrium with them typically differ in composition. These differences impact automotive fuel systems in several ways. Large compositional differences between liquid and vapor phases affect the composition of species taken up within the evaporative emission control canister ...
