In this study, the response of a liquid-fueled resonant pulse combustor to changes in liquid fuel composition was investigated. Experiments were performed with gasoline- ethanol, gasoline-diesel, and gasoline-heptane mixtures selected to produce meaningful variations in the ignition delay time. A review of ignition quality tester (IQT) data provided an

Puffing/micro-explosion of two-liquid droplets: Effect of fuel shell composition
Physics of FluidsTheoretical research into the heat and mass transfer, hydrodynamic and physicochemical processes in combustion chambers of gas turbine engines usually implies that multi-component jet fuels are modeled using single-component liquids (saturated or cyclic hydrocarbons) and their substitutes.

Effect of Gas Diffusion Layer Composition on the Performance of Liquid Direct Methanol Fuel Cells
ECS Transactions, 2009The effect of gas diffusion layer compositions on the performance of liquid feed direct methanol fuel cell has been investigated. Cathode diffusion layers consisting of carbon paper with different microporous layer compositions have been fabricated. Specifically, we have modified the carbon material used in microporous layers.

A model is presented to predict the local pressure and chemical composition in the anode and cathode sides of a liquid feed direct methanol fuel cell. The model is based on the homogeneous two-phase flow theory and mass conservation equation, which describes the hydraulic behaviour of an experimental large cell.

Evolution of temperature of a droplet of liquid composite fuel interacting with heated airflow
Thermophysics and Aeromechanics, 2016The macroscopic patterns of a temperature change at the center of a droplet of three-component (coal, water, petroleum) composite liquid fuel (CLF) were studied using a low-inertia thermoelectric converter and system of high-speed (up to 105 frames per second) video recording during the induction period at different heating intensity by the air flow ...

Abstract A sheet moulding compound (SMC) of fibre-glass and ortho-phthalic polyester has been pyrolysed in a laboratory installation at 300, 400, 500, 600 and 700°C for 30 min. Solid residues of 72–82 wt%, gas yields of 6–12 wt% and liquid yields of 9–13 wt% were obtained.
