Microstructural Evolution and Vacancy Defect Formation in Mn–Mo–Ni RPV Steel Under Low Cycle Fatigue: Insights From EBSD and PALS

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐cycle fatigue damage in Mn–Mo–Ni reactor pressure vessel steel is examined using a combined electron backscatter diffraction and positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy approach. The study correlates texture evolution, dislocation substructure development, and vacancy‐type defect formation across uniform, necked, and fracture regions, providing

Balancing composite motion optimization

Information Sciences, 2020
Abstract Meta-heuristic algorithms play an important role in the optimization field thanks to their robustness and programming simplicity. Many meta-heuristic methods have been devised in recent years. Inspired by nature, they usually simulate natural or human-specific phenomena in a better way.

Hydrophobic Bioadhesive Composites for Human Motion Detection

ACS Macro Letters, 2021
Conductive hydrogels are rapidly rising as sensing materials for bioelectronics applications, but lack mechanical and adhesion strength due to their excess water content. We propose a diazirine-grafted polycaprolactone adhesive (CaproGlu)/carbon nanotubes (CNTs) composite that can provide wet adhesion and strong mechanical properties at the tissue ...

Retrieval of motion composition in film

Digital Creativity, 2011
This article presents methods for the automatic retrieval of motion and motion compositions in movies. We introduce a user-friendly sketch-based query interface that enables the user to describe desired motion compositions. Based on this abstract description, a tolerant matching scheme extracts shots from a movie with a similar composition.

Motion Interpolation With G2 Composite Bézier Motions

20th Design Automation Conference: Volume 1 — Dynamic Mechanical Systems; Geometric Modeling and Features; Concurrent Engineering, 1994
Abstract This paper deals with smooth motion interpolation. Recently, a direct construction algorithm was developed for designing piecewise parametric motions with second order geometric continuity (G2). The present paper provides a refined version of the G2 spline algorithm and shows how the G2 spline motion can be used to fulfill the ...

Motion-distorted composite-frame restoration

Applied Optics, 1999
Many imaging systems produce pictures by the superimposition of two fields of frames of interlaced sequences. Pictures obtained in this way, which are termed composite frames, are severely degraded if relative motion between the camera and the scene occurs.

Motion Compensated Composite Color Coding

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1983
This paper is concerned with motion compensation techniques for predictive coding of the composite (frequency multiplexed) color television signal. Motion estimation algorithms developed in this paper are recursive and are extensions of our previous algorithms developed for baseband luminance signals. We show, by computer simulations, that displacement

Composition and Evaluation of the Humanlike Motions of an Android

2006 6th IEEE-RAS International Conference on Humanoid Robots, 2006
Both appearance and motion are important considerations in designing robots for interaction with humans. In communication, humans sense intelligence in their conversation partner. We aim to develop an intelligent robot that communicates in the same intelligent and human-like way in daily life. We use the total Turing test to evaluate the human-likeness

Motion Composition of 3D Video

2006
3D video, which is composed of a sequence of mesh models and can provide the user with interactivity, is attracting increasing attention in many research groups. However, it is time-consuming and expensive to generate 3D video sequences. In this paper, a motion composition method is proposed to edit 3D video based on the user’s requirements so that 3D ...

Biomimetic composite learning for robot motion control

2016 6th IEEE International Conference on Biomedical Robotics and Biomechatronics (BioRob), 2016
This paper focuses on biomimetic hybrid feedback feedforward (HFF) learning for robot motion control. Existing HFF robot motion control approaches have a major problem that accurate estimation of the robotic dynamics, which is crucial for mimicking biological control, is not taken into account. In this study, a composite learning technique is presented
