Estimation of composite object and camera image motion

Proceedings of the Seventh IEEE International Conference on Computer Vision, 1999
An approach for estimating composite independent object and camera image motions is proposed. The approach employs spatio-temporal flow models learned through observing typical movements of the object, to decompose image motion into independent object and camera motions.

Composition of Complex Motion Models from Elementary Human Motions

2006
An appraisal of human motions and particular motion phases is essential for a good interaction between a human and a humanoid robot. We present a new method for the analysis of human motions and the classification of motion phases. The method allows an automatic composition of a motion model for a complex motion from several elementary models.

Composite motion in cervical disc segments

Clinical Biomechanics, 1993
This study of composite motion in cervical motion segments used biplanar radiography and the principles of rigid body mechanics to determine the relationship of the axes of motion to the planes of the discs and zygapophyseal joints. Each cervical disc has an uniinate process posterolaterally on each side and the zygapophyseal joints are orientated at ...

Style-based motion analysis for dance composition

The Visual Computer, 2017
Synthesizing human motions from existing motion capture data is the approach of choice in most applications requiring high- quality visual results. Usually to synthesize motion, short motion segments are concatenated into longer sequences by finding transitions at points where character poses are similar.

On the Syntactic Composition of Manner and Motion

2007
This crosslinguistic study of the structure of motion predicates argues for the universal syntactic nature of the composition of manner and motion within the verbal constituent. In serial verb languages, manner and motion are overtly represented as two distinct morphosyntactic units, sequentially ordered. Zubizarreta and Oh argue that the same analysis

Composite motion and effort control

Proceedings of the 1997 American Control Conference (Cat. No.97CH36041), 1997
A method for simultaneously controlling the motion of bodies and the constraining efforts between bodies of multibody systems is presented. The motions and efforts controlled are gauge invariant compositions of the generalized velocities and forces commonly used in describing dynamic systems.

The Active Control of Motion in a Composite Structure

Dynamic Systems and Control, 2001
Abstract The purpose of this paper is to propose a configuration for a piezoelectric composite structure that can control the motion caused by mechanical loads. The composite structure is composed of two semi-infinite layers: one layer of main material, and another layer of piezoelectric material with Cantor-like structure.

On the Solutions to Forced Motions of Rectangular Composite Plates

Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1982
For two different lamination schemes, under appropriate boundary conditions and sinusoidal distribution of the transverse load, the exact form of the spatial variation of the solution is obtained, and the problem is reduced to the solution of a system of ordinary differential equations in time, which are integrated numerically using Newmark’s direct ...

Frequency composition of perturbed slider motion

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1987
This report describes the motion of a 3370 type slider as a function of frequency and interface speed. The data is plotted as three dimensional surfaces which are very useful in delineating natural air bearing frequencies from driving frequencies caused by mechanical perturbations.
