Experimental and Numerical Study on the Strength of Repaired Steel Pipes with Composite Patches under Internal Pressure [PDF]
Considering the old methods of maintenance and repair of oil and gas pipelines such as welding or replacing a part of the damaged pipeline which include high costs and spending a lot of time, the important usage of novel methods with lower costs such as ...

On approximation numbers of composition operators
We show that the approximation numbers of a compact composition operator on the weighted Bergman spaces $\mathfrak{B}_ $ of the unit disk can tend to 0 arbitrarily slowly, but that they never tend quickly to 0: they grow at least exponentially, and this speed of convergence is only obtained for symbols which do not approach the unit circle.

Adaptive Speaker Recognition Based on Hidden Markov Model Parameter Optimization
The Hidden Markov Model (HMM) is a widely used method for speaker recognition. During its training, the composite order of the measurement probability matrix and the number of re-evaluations of the initial model affect the speed and accuracy of a ...

The crossing number of composite knots [PDF]
It is a very old conjecture that the crossing number of knots is additive under connected sum. In other words, if K#K' is the connected sum of knots K and K', then does the equality c(K#K') = c(K) + c(K') hold? We prove that c(K#K') is at most c(K) + c(K') and at least (c(K) + c(K'))/152.

Composite Material Recycling Technology—State-of-the-Art and Sustainable Development for the 2020s
Recently, significant events took place that added immensely to the sociotechnical pressure for developing sustainable composite recycling solutions, namely (1) a ban on composite landfilling in Germany in 2009, (2) the first major wave of composite wind
