Fatigue Experiments on Composite Slab Floors

Journal of the Structural Division, 1979
Composite slabs consisting of cold-formed light-gage steel sheets and normal or lightweight concrete have been used extensively under static loading conditions but are generally not used under heavy moving loads. Preliminary tests indicated a favorable response when these composite slabs were subjected to repreated loadings.

Transient temperature response of composite slabs

International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, 1974
Abstract The general differential equations for unsteady uni-dimensional heat conduction in composite slabs were solved numerically by using the finite element method under the boundary conditions including the contact resistance between the layers. The numerical results of transient temperature response agreed well with the analytical solution for ...

Longitudinal shear resistance of composite slabs

Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers - Structures and Buildings, 2014
Composite slabs using cold-formed profiled steel sheeting are widely used in multi-storey steel-framed buildings. This paper presents the results from a comprehensive test programme that considers the longitudinal shear resistance of composite slabs with two types of trapezoidal profiled sheeting, where the only parameter that was varied was the yield

Long span composite slabs

1986
In this paper specific design aspects of long span composite slabs, with deep steel sections and relatively small ribs, are discussed. Results are given of a numerical study on the rotational capacity of such sections, leading to conclusions on the applicability of plastic analysis.

The Ortho-Composite-Slab of the Elbebridge Wittenberge

IABSE Reports, 2014
<p> The main Bridge of the Elbebridge Wittenberge is a 3-span continuous beam steel bridge with a wave-like curved upper chord between the two carriageways. With spans of 126 - 160 - 126m and a slenderness of 32, the superstructure requires a light but fatigue resistant roadway slab.

Fire-Resistance of Composite Concrete Slabs

2013
The contribution of a steel deck to support the sagging moment is usually employed when designing the composite slab. However, the fire resistance of the steel sheet in the composite slab is a big concern. The traditional fire-resistance design of the composite slab is based on the fire resistance test.

Thermal analysis - Composite slab

2013
This report presents the results of the numerical simulations performed by University of Liege for ArcelorMittal Construction Solutions, represented by Mr. Christoph Radermacher. The study has been conducted in March 2013. The study concerns the thermal analysis of a composite steel-concrete slab Cofrastra 56S (0.75mm/130mm) subjected to ISO fire on ...

A plate model for composite slab analysis

Thin-Walled Structures, 1990
Abstract Composite floor decks constructed with profiled steel sheeting acting as formwork and reinforcement to a concrete slab are increasing in popularity. In this paper an elastic folded palte method of analysis has been applied to model their behaviour.
