Angewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.Protactinium(V) defies expectations. Its elusive mono‐oxo bond was revealed through a combination of extended X‐ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) and X‐ray absorption near‐edge structure (XANES) analyses, as well as quantum chemical calculations.
