Fault-Tolerant Control Allocation on a Compound Helicopter in Cruise

Proceedings of the Vertical Flight Society 77th Annual Forum, 2021
The present study provides a comparison of an adaptive versus a robust baseline pseudoinverse control allocation method on a 20,110 lb compound helicopter post-actuator failure. Failure scenarios such as locking of the main rotor swashplate actuators and aerosurface actuators are taken into consideration in forward flight.

Planar faults in Aurivillius compounds: An X-ray diffraction study

Philosophical Magazine A, 2002
Abstract Layered bismuth-containing perovskites are known to be subject to complex structural imperfections such as planar faults. A careful analysis of X-ray powder diffraction lines of the Aurivillius compound SrBi2Nb2O9 shows that stacking faults are located along the c axis and (hk0) reflections are thus unaffected by faulting.

Stacking fault energy and ionicity of cubic III–V compounds

Physica Status Solidi (a), 1978
Using weak beam electron microscopy the stacking fault energy (SFE) of III-V compounds is determined by measuring the dissociation width of edge dislocations. The SFE corrected for the lattice parameters is given in meV/atom for GaAs, GaP, GaSb, InAs, InP, and InSb. As expected there is a strong correlation of the SFE with the ionicity of the bond. The

Compound fault prediction of rolling bearing using multimedia data

Multimedia Tools and Applications, 2017
Catastrophic failure of mechanical systems due to faults occurring on rolling bearing is still a great challenge. These faults, which are of multiple type, are compounded in nature. Vibration analysis of multimedia signals is one of the most effective techniques for the health monitoring of these bearings.

Regulators faulted for inadequate compounding pharmacy oversight

American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy, 2013
D uring hearings in November, Congress faulted lapses in state and federal oversight of pharmacy compounding that might have contributed to the meningitis outbreak associated with allegedly tainted drugs produced by the New England Compounding Center (NECC) of Framingham, Massachusetts ...

Ensemble extreme learning machines for compound-fault diagnosis of rotating machinery

Knowledge-Based Systems, 2020
Abstract The data-driven fault indicator for rotating machinery is designed to reveal the possible fault scenarios from the observed statistical vibration signals. This study develops a novel ensemble extreme learning machine (EELM) network to replace the conventional layout by combining binary classifiers (e.g., binary relevance) for compound-fault ...

Compound fault diagnosis based on probability box theory

2017 9th International Conference on Modelling, Identification and Control (ICMIC), 2017
In view of compound fault of rolling bearing in mechanical transmission system, the fault signal was decomposed by probability box modeling method to obtain the different probability box models. The original data with abundant statistical information was taken as the research object.

The application of compound networks in fault diagnosis of power transformer

2008 China International Conference on Electricity Distribution, 2008
Using the concepts of typical gas's concentration and cumulative frequency in analysis of the reliability data for dealing with the pretreatment of data of DGA, two new normalized methods which named characteristic normalization and mix normalization are presented in this paper. The Fisher rule to evaluate the results of the two pretreatment methods is

A novel compound neural network for fault sources recognition

2010 International Conference on Computer Application and System Modeling (ICCASM 2010), 2010
Independent component analysis (ICA) is a powerful tool for redundancy reduction and nongaussian data analysis. And, artificial neural network (ANN), especially the self-organizing map (SOM) based on unsupervised learning is a kind of excellent method for pattern clustering and recognition. By combining ICA with ANN, a novel compound neural network for
