The Complete Model of Wet Air Analysis in Mine Ventilation Design (CMWAA Method) [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mining and Geo-Engineering
The ventilation design of mines is based on fluid dynamics. Air is the main fluid in mining ventilation. This fluid is analyzed by two models: incompressibility and compressibility.

Infantile Central Nervous System Juvenile Xanthogranuloma With Somatic CSF1R Mutation Responsive to Imatinib Monotherapy

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Juvenile xanthogranuloma (JXG) of the central nervous system (CNS) is a rare non‐Langerhans cell histiocytosis. CSF1R mutations have been reported for peripheral JXG, but not in CNS JXG. A 3‐month‐old male presented with fever, lymphadenopathy, and macrocephaly with bulging fontanelles.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Strong Solution for a Nonlinear Non-Newtonian Shear Thickening Fluid

open access: yesMathematics
This paper consider a nonlinear shear thickening fluid in one dimensional bounded interval. The model illustrates that the movement of the compressible fluid is driven by non-Newtonian gravity, and represents a more realistic phenomenon.

On numerical simulation of electromagnetic field effects in the combustion process

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2018
This paper deals with a simplified model taking into account the interplay of compressible, laminar, axisymmetric flow and the electrodynamical effects due to Lorentz force’s action on the combustion process in a cylindrical pipe.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Experimental Investigation Techniques for Non-Ideal Compressible Fluid Dynamics

open access: yesInternational Journal of Turbomachinery, Propulsion and Power, 2023
The rising number of applications of the organic Rankine cycle (ORC) or supercritical CO2 (sCO2) power systems have shaped a new branch of fluid mechanics called non-ideal compressible fluid dynamics (NICFD).

Intrapatient tumour heterogeneity and clonal evolution in an autopsy study of metastatic salivary gland cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumour heterogeneity and clonal evolution of metastatic salivary gland cancer were evaluated in two patients with adenoid carcinoma and one patient with myoepithelial carcinoma. Radiology‐guided autopsy enabled multi‐region sampling (total samples n = 149), followed by whole‐genome sequencing and phylogenetic reconstruction (17 tumour samples, 4–7 per ...

Compressible Navier-Stokes Equations in Cylindrical Passages and General Dynamics of Surfaces—(I)-Flow Structures and (II)-Analyzing Biomembranes under Static and Dynamic Conditions

open access: yesMathematics, 2019
A new approach to solve the compressible Navier-Stokes equations in cylindrical co-ordinates using Geometric Algebra is proposed. This work was recently initiated by corresponding author of this current work, and in contrast due to a now complete ...
