Pushdown Compression

open access: yesCoRR, 2007
The pressing need for eficient compression schemes for XML documents has recently been focused on stack computation [6, 9], and in particular calls for a formulation of information-lossless stack or pushdown compressors that allows a formal analysis of their performance and a more ambitious use of the stack in XML compression, where so far it is mainly

Heterogeneity in the Global Practice of Central Nervous System Staging in Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Central nervous system (CNS) involvement in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is assessed by cell counting and cytomorphology from cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and is used for treatment stratification worldwide. The ratio of “CNS2” patients in clinical trials ranges from 3% to 40%, with unclear prognostic significance ...

Mechanical properties of rough and dehulled rice during drying

open access: yesInternational Journal of Food Studies, 2013
This work aimed to determine the mechanical properties of rough and dehulled rice grains, for different moisture contents, by obtaining their rupture force, deformation, maximum compression force and proportional deformity modulus under a compression ...

A Bibliometric Analysis of Publications in Uremic Toxins From 1991 to 2024

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Uremic toxins are a growing area of research in nephrology, with significant implications in the progression and treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and the management of end‐stage kidney disease (ESKD). This bibliometric analysis aims to evaluate the global research trends, key contributors, and the impact of publications in ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Laboratory Investigation of the Mechanical Properties of a Rubber–Calcareous Sand Mixture: The Effect of Rubber Content

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
This paper introduces a rubber–calcareous sand mixture as a lightweight building material in offshore engineering. The mechanical properties of mixtures of varying rubber contents were investigated by performing a one-dimensional (1-D) compression test ...

Dehydration of Biotissues During Their Compression [PDF]

open access: yesИзвестия Саратовского университета. Новая серия: Физика, 2020
Background and Objectives: Dehydration of tissue is one of the possible mechanisms of mechanical tissue optical clearing. In this study we investigated the effects of dehydration of ex vivo cow muscle tissue samples during their compression on diffuse ...

Prehospital randomised assessment of a mechanical compression device in cardiac arrest (PaRAMeDIC) trial protocol [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Background Survival after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest is closely linked to the quality of CPR, but in real life, resuscitation during pre-hospital care and ambulance transport is often suboptimal.
