THE ISOTONOMETRIC COMPRESSION TEST

Acta Ophthalmologica, 1973
A description is given of a test for determining the ouflow of the aqueous humour. The test consists of compressing the eyeball with a metal funnel attached near the limbus of the cornea by suction. The intraocular pressure increased in this way is kept constant during the test by increasing the suction.

NEW COMPRESSION TESTS IN GLAUCOMA

Acta Ophthalmologica, 1973
The posterior annular compression test aims at estimating the aqueous outflow facility as well as at detecting the predisposition to the closure of the anterior chamber angle. An annular compressor weighing 50 g is placed on the globe in a posterior position to the iris‐lens diaphragm for 3 min.

The scaphoid compression test

The Journal of Hand Surgery: Journal of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand, 1989
A clinical test for scaphoid waist fractures is described in which the first ray is compressed longitudinally. This has the advantage that it can be done when the patient is in a plaster cast. Of 52 patients with suspected scaphoid fractures, 37 had negative tests and proved by X-rays then and later to have no fracture.

Accumulator Compression Testing

IEEE Transactions on Computers, 1986
A new test data reduction technique called accumulator compression testng (ACT) is proposed. ACT is an extension of syndrome testing. It is shown that the enumeration of errors missed by ACT for a unit under test is equivalent to the number of restricted partitions of a number.

Testing Compression Bandages

Phlebology: The Journal of Venous Disease, 1988
Compression bandaging is the mainstay of the treatment of chronic venous leg ulcers. Using the Borgnis Medical Stocking Tester, six bandages in common use; (Blue Line, J-Press, Medirip, Elastocrepe, Crepe, and Elastoplast), were studied for the pressures attained, and the ability to sustain pressure.

The Arthroscopic Active Compression Test

Arthroscopy: The Journal of Arthroscopic & Related Surgery, 2005
Pathology of the biceps tendon is often a factor in the pathogenesis of shoulder pain. However, diagnosis and management of such pathology remains controversial. Multiple tests have been described to identify pathology related to the biceps tendon and biceps anchor.

STIFFNESS OF COMPRESSION TESTING MACHINES

Journal of Texture Studies, 2000
ABSTRACTA ring test with six participating laboratories and rubber stoppers as reference material was performed to monitor the performance of commercial compression testing instruments. Testing conditions were chosen to be in the range of regular compression testing. Small, single screw instruments with a cantilever exhibited a significant deviation in

VENOUS-COMPRESSION TEST IN HYPERPARATHYROIDISM

The Lancet, 1969
Abstract Venous compression of the arm (100 mm. Hg) with rhythmical fist-clenching for 15 minutes in hyperparathyroid patients caused a substantial rise in serum-calcium in the occluded arm. In 25 patients the average increase was 7.2%, compared with an increase of only 1.0% in 25 normal controls.
