Some Structural and Evolutionary Aspects of Compression Wood Tracheids [PDF]
Structural changes during the transition between normal wood and compression wood were observed. A comparison was made among gymnospermous species with respect to variations in the common features of compression wood tracheids.

Mechanical Properties of Compressed Wood with Various Compression Ratios
This paper investigates five groups of compressed wood (CF), four of them made from compressed Japanese cedar with four different compression ratios (CR) of 33%, 50%, 67% and 70% and one without compression (control). The specimens were conditioned in relative humidity (RH) of 60% with moisture content (MC) of 12%.

Compression Strength of Fir and Beech Wood Modified by Citric Acid
Previous articles have shown that modification of wood by citric acid (CA) improves dimensional stability and resistance of wood against fungi attack. However, chemical modification of wood also modifies its mechanical properties in some way.

Testing Small Wood Specimens In Transverse Compression [PDF]
The standard test method recommended in ASTM Standard D143 for compression perpendicular to the grain does not measure pure compression. The results of small wood specimens tested in compression perpendicular to the grain may be influenced by macroscopic

Electrospun Wood‐Derived Biopolymers as Electrodes in Electrochemical Energy Storage Technologies
Electrospinning transforms wood‐derived cellulose and lignin into architecturally defined, binder‐free carbon electrodes with tuneable porosity and functionality. This review shows how fibre design enables decoupled charge and mass transport, enhancing performance across battery systems, while identifying key challenges in spinnability, scalability ...
