JBIG for Printer Pipelines: A Compression Test [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The proposed paper describes a compression test analysis of JBIG standard algorithm. The aim of such work is to proof the effectiveness of this standard for images acquired through scanners and processed into a printer pipeline. The main issue of printer pipelines is the necessity to use a memory buffer to store scanned images for multiple prints. This

Field Report from Collaborative Research Center 1625: Heterogeneous Research Data Management Using Ontology Representations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A unified research data management framework for heterogeneous materials data is presented. The system integrates multimodal datasets using ontologies and knowledge graphs, enabling interoperability and FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable) data principles. By linking data across scales and workflows, it supports reproducible, Artifitial

Adapting Artificial Intelligence to Improve In Situ Concrete Compressive Strength Estimations in Rebound Hammer Tests

open access: yesFrontiers in Materials, 2020
Compressive strength is probably one the most crucial properties of concrete material. For existing structures, core samples are drilled and tested to obtain the concrete compressive strength.

Compression-based SoC Test Infrastructures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Test Data Compression techniques have been developed for reducing requirements in terms of Automatic Test Equipments. In this paper, we explore the benefits of using these techniques in the context of core-based SoCs. Test Data Compression is used to reduce the system test time by increasing the test parallelism of several cores without the expense of ...

Towards Defect Phase Diagrams: From Research Data Management to Automated Workflows

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A research data management infrastructure is presented for the systematic integration of heterogeneous experimental and simulation data required for defect phase diagrams. The approach combines openBIS with a companion application for large‐object storage, automated metadata extraction, provenance tracking and federated data access, thereby supporting ...

Probe penetration test applied for evaluating shotcrete compressive strength

open access: yesRevista IBRACON de Estruturas e Materiais
This study presents a methodology for evaluating shotcrete compressive strength. Because of the high surface roughness and low thickness of the concrete layer observed in shotcrete structures, the proposed methodology is based on the probe penetration ...

Creating Ti–Fe α/β Alloys by Diffusion‐Driven Solid‐State Processing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study proposes making alloys containing fast diffusing elements that are difficult to produce by ingot metallurgy, by diffusion‐driven solid‐state HIP processing of elemental powders and low‐temperature homogenisation. Here, novel Fe‐Ti α–β alloys are formed having fine α–β lamellae, a small β prior grain size without significant intermetallics ...

Solid‐State Diffusion and Intermetallic Phase Formation in Roll‐Bonded Mg–Zn Composites With Kirigami‐Patterned Inlay

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.

Test data compression and TAM design

open access: yes2007 IFIP International Conference on Very Large Scale Integration, 2007
Test Data Compression (TDC) techniques have been developed for reducing requirements in terms of Automatic Test Equipment resources. These techniques generally deal with stand alone circuits. In this paper, we explore the benefits of using TDC techniques in the context of core-based SoCs. TDC is used to reduce the test time by improving the parallelism
