End-wall slotting effects on axial velocity density ratio of supersonic compressor cascade

open access: yesKongqi donglixue xuebao
In addressing the issue of adjusting the axial velocity density ratio in experiments with supersonic compressor planar cascades, numerical simulations were employed to investigate the impact of end-wall slotting on the flow field of the supersonic ...

Turbulence Amplification with Incidence at the Leading Edge of a Compressor Cascade [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Rotating Machinery, 1996
Detailed measurements, with a two‐component laser‐Doppler velocimeter and a thermal anemometer were made near the suction surface leading edge of controlled‐diffusion airfoils in cascade. The Reynolds number was near 700,000, Mach number equal to 0.25, and freestream turbulence was at 1.5% ahead of the cascade. It was found that there was a localized ...

Field Report from Collaborative Research Center 1625: Heterogeneous Research Data Management Using Ontology Representations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A unified research data management framework for heterogeneous materials data is presented. The system integrates multimodal datasets using ontologies and knowledge graphs, enabling interoperability and FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable) data principles. By linking data across scales and workflows, it supports reproducible, Artifitial

Is an Apple an Orange? A Large Language Model Benchmark for Candidate Term Extraction and Subclass Decisions Against Upper Ontologies in Engineering and Materials Science

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Building machine‐readable vocabularies for materials science is slow, expert‐driven work. This study benchmarks 13 large language models on two of its first steps: finding candidate terms in engineering articles and deciding where they belong in a class hierarchy.

Corner Separation Control Using a New Combined Slotted Configuration in a High-Turning Compressor Cascade under Different Solidities

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
In order to comprehensively control the corner separation and the blade trailing edge (TE) separation in a high-turning compressor stator cascade, this research proposes a new combined slotted configuration consisting of one full-span slot and two blade ...

Effect of Leading-Edge Tubercles on Compressor Cascade Performance [PDF]

open access: yesAIAA Journal, 2016
Tubercles are modifications to the leading edge of an airfoil in the form of blunt wave-like serrations. Several studies on the effect of tubercles on isolated airfoils have shown a beneficial effect in the post-stall regime, as reduced drag and increased lift, leading to a delay of stall.

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Swelling‐Programmed Topographical Guidance for Dynamic Spheroid Self‐Assembly via a Mechanochemical Hydrogel Niche

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A swelling‐programmed micropatterned hydrogel guides adherent cells through a controlled transition from cell–matrix anchoring to cadherin‐mediated cell–cell compaction, enabling rapid assembly of high‐viability spheroids with defined size and morphology.
