ABET Accreditation: A Way Forward for PDC Education [PDF]

open access: yesEduPar-21: 11th NSF/TCPP Workshop on Parallel and Distributed Computing Education, May 2021, 2021
With parallel and distributed computing (PDC) now wide-spread, modern computing programs must incorporate PDC within the curriculum. ACM and IEEE Computer Society's Computer Science curricular guidelines have recommended exposure to PDC concepts since 2013.

Transcriptome‐wide analysis of circRNA and RBP profiles and their molecular relevance for GBM

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CircRNAs are differentially expressed in glioblastoma primary tumors and might serve as therapeutic targets and diagnostic markers. The investigation of circRNA and RNA‐binding proteins (RBPs) interactions shows that distinct RBPs play a role in circRNA biogenesis and function.

Computational Thinking in Science

open access: yesAmerican Scientist, 2017
A quiet but profound revolution has been taking place throughout science. The computing revolution has transformed science by enabling all sorts of new discoveries through information technology. Throughout most of the history of science and technology, there have been two types of characters.

A short proof that adding some permutation rules to $β$ preserves $SN$ [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
I show that, if a term is $SN$ for $\beta$, it remains $SN$ when some permutation rules are added.

Comparing self‐reported race and genetic ancestry for identifying potential differentially methylated sites in endometrial cancer: insights from African ancestry proportions using machine learning models

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Integrating ancestry, differential methylation analysis, and machine learning, we identified robust epigenetic signature genes (ESGs) and Core‐ESGs in Black and White women with endometrial cancer. Core‐ESGs (namely APOBEC1 and PLEKHG5) methylation levels were significantly associated with survival, with tumors from high African ancestry (THA) showing ...

CICT: New Eyes on Computational Competence in Computational Science

open access: yesITM Web of Conferences, 2018
Science does not exists to enlighten people's minds only. It mainly exists to show the educated way from quanta to qualia. And that way starts from computational competence. In previous papers published elsewhere, we have already shown that traditional Q

FAIR and Open Computer Science Research Software [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
In computational science and in computer science, research software is a central asset for research. Computational science is the application of computer science and software engineering principles to solving scientific problems, whereas computer science is the study of computer hardware and software design. The Open Science agenda holds that science
