Improving early diagnosis of pulmonary infections in patients with febrile neutropenia using low-dose chest computed tomography. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2017
We performed a prospective study in patients with chemotherapy induced febrile neutropenia to investigate the diagnostic value of low-dose computed tomography compared to standard chest radiography. The aim was to compare both modalities for detection of

Dose audit for patients undergoing two common radiography examinations with digital radiology systems

open access: yesDiagnostic and Interventional Radiology, 2014
PURPOSEWe aimed to determine the radiation doses delivered to patients undergoing general examinations using computed or digital radiography systems in Turkey.

Radiography - How do students understand the concept of radiography?

open access: yes, 2014
Background: Radiography as a concept has mainly been associated with the functional role of the radiographer. The concept has been studied from a theoretical point of view.

Adopting a blended approach to learning: experiences from radiography at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The perspective of the radiography teaching team at Queen Margaret University (QMU) was that a transmission mode of programme delivery was sub-optimal in helping students to learn and make links between theory and practice.

In-situ Analysis of Laminated Composite Materials by X-ray Micro-Computed Tomography and Digital Volume Correlation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The complex mechanical behaviour of composite materials, due to internal heterogeneity and multi-layered composition impose deeper studies. This paper presents an experimental investigation technique to perform volume kinematic measurements in composite ...

Comparison of Thoracic Radiography and Computed Tomography in Calves with Naturally Occurring Respiratory Disease

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science, 2017
ObjectiveTo evaluate the severity and extent of lung disease using thoracic computed radiography (CR) compared to contrast-enhanced multi-detector computed tomography (MDCT) of the thorax in calves with naturally occurring respiratory disease and to ...

Evidence-based radiography: A new methodology or the systematisation of an old practice? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Introduction: Evidence based radiography (EBR) is the logical development of evidence based practice applied to radiography. The aim of this study was to investigate the opinion of a cohort of Portuguese radiographers in Southern Portugal working in ...

Radiation Dose Reduction in Different Digital Radiography Systems: Impact on Assessment of Defined Bony Structures in Bearded Dragons (Pogona vitticeps)

open access: yesAnimals, 2023
Three different digital detector systems were used to study the effect of a defined radiation dose reduction on the image quality of digital radiographs in bearded dragons (Pogona vitticeps).

Optimization of Dose and Image Quality for Computed Radiography and Digital Radiography [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Digital Imaging, 2006
The surface doses to patients during chest, abdomen and pelvis radiography were measured over a period of 3 years, during which time computed radiography (CR) and digital radiography (DR) systems were introduced to replace film-screen systems. For film-screen and CR the surface doses were measured with thermoluminescent dosimeters.
