Computer assisted methods for the detection of pulmonary nodules have become more important as the resolution of CT scanners has increased and as more accurate and reproducible detections are needed. In this paper we describe the results of a CAD system for the detection of lung nodules and compare them against the interpretations of three independent ...

Axon sprouting typically occurs in a brain region that has been partially denervated. The present study demonstrates, quantitatively, evidence for sprouting outside the region of deafferentation. A modification of the Timm sulfide silver histochemical method was used to monitor an increase in the mossy fiber terminal field in the fascia dentata of ...

Computer assisted technology for medical image processing is developed to increase the accuracy and reliability of peripheral lung cancer diagnosis at the early stage of disease. Technology is based on optimal filtering methods that are to emphasize diagnostically important patterns and parts in lung tomograms.

The paper presents an approach for computer-assisted diagnosis of some diseases (e.g. anaemia, malaria), which are caused by deformations of erythrocyte shapes. In the method firstly the thresholding of the input MGG image is performed, using modified thresholding based on fuzzy measures. Secondly, every cell is localised and extracted.
