Automating GPU computing in MATLAB

Proceedings of the international conference on Supercomputing, 2011
MATLAB is a popular software platform for scientific and engineering software writers. It offers a high level of abstraction for fundamental mathematical operations and extensive highly optimized domain-specific libraries for several scientific and engineering disciplines. With the recent availability of GPU libraries for MATLAB, it has become possible

Automating customized computing

2014 International Conference on Field-Programmable Technology (FPT), 2014
Customized computing has been of interest to the research community for over three decades. The interest has intensified in the recent years as the power and energy become a significant limiting factor to the computing industry. For example, the energy consumed by the datacenters of some large internet service provides is well over 109 Kilowatt-hours ...

A computer system for automation of a laboratory

Proceedings of the December 9-11, 1968, fall joint computer conference, part II on - AFIPS '68 (Fall, part II), 1968
In the past, scientists have applied the digital computer in an off-line fashion to the problems of analyzing the voluminous data produced by their laboratory instruments. The use of computer techniques for digital filtering, peak finding, and spectral decomposition has greatly increased the rate at which experimental data can be analyzed.

Personal computers in automation systems

Microprocessors and Microsystems, 1981
Abstract Historically, computer control of processes and experiments has been the domain of large scale industry and research organizations. For small quantity or ‘one off’ systems, the availability of the microprocessor and associated LSI and MSI logic components have lowered the cost of such automation and process control systems by perhaps an ...

Automated hoarding for mobile computers

Proceedings of the sixteenth ACM symposium on Operating systems principles, 1997
A common problem facing mobile computing is disconnected operation, or computing in the absence of a network. Hoarding eases disconnected operation by selecting a subset of the user’s files for local storage. We describe a hoarding system that can operate without user intervention, by observing user activity and predicting future needs.

Automated Proofs for Computational Indistinguishability

The Computer Journal, 2013
We present a tool for automatic analysis of computational indistinguishability between two strings of information. This is designed as a generic tool for proving cryptographic security based on a formalism that provides computational soundness preservation. The tool has been implemented and tested successfully with several cryptographic schemes.

Automated Abduction for Computer Forensics

2006
This paper describes a diagnostic system designed to aid an investigator to determine how a computer intrusion was accomplished. This wants to be a decision support by figuring out how a hacker created an unauthorized computer account. The diagnostic of this system is based on automated abduction. Abduction is inference that begins with data describing

Design automation in network computers

Proceedings of the ninth design automation workshop on Design automation - DAC '72, 1972
Network computers are becoming a reality in the seventies. While systems such as the ARPA Network, Carnegie Mellon's PLN, the Collins C-System, CDC's Cybernet, and GE's Time Share Net are coming to fruition, even more grandiose systems are being discussed.

Automated computer card design

Proceedings of the 1961 16th ACM national meeting on -, 1961
In recent years, within the computer industry greater and greater efforts have been placed upon the problem of designing computers through the use of computers, a form of self regeneration. The problems encountered in such an endeavor can be divided into three general classes: a.
