Computer animation survey

Computers & Graphics, 1977
Abstract Each section examines a single technique of conventional, manual animation. Within each section various means of automating the technique are considered. It is seen, for each technique, that there are advantages to using electronic rather than mechanical hardware. Desirable characteristics for an electronic base for animation are identified.

Computer music animations

Organised Sound, 1998
Electroacoustic music, since its inception, has been situated in a cross-disciplinary no-man's-land, with areas of interest spread in many directions; from ideas of musical structures ordered through traditional pitch-classes to research on physical modelling and analysis of sound and compositional structures through the use of neural networks ...

Computer Animation Techniques

2000
Animation, whether it is traditional or computer-generated, is about movement — moving characters, moving objects, moving cameras, moving lights and moving special effects. Traditional animators rely upon their drawing skills to endow a cartoon character with life-like movement; as they are not constrained by any physical laws, movements can be ...

Computer Animation Techniques

1987
Computer animation of three-dimensional objects and figures consists of modeling, rendering, and control problems. This survey discusses the state of the art in motion control of complex, articulated figures. The major approaches to animation control are parametric interpolation schemes, kinetics, inverse kinematics, constraints, dynamics, simulation ...
