A comparative study on face recognition techniques and neural network
In modern times, face recognition has become one of the key aspects of computer vision. There are at least two reasons for this trend; the first is the commercial and law enforcement applications, and the second is the availability of feasible ...

Cr0.9Si0.1 protective coatings are developed to enhance the thermal‐shock and oxidation resistance of Mg2Si0.89(Sn0.1,Sb0.01) thermoelectric (TE) materials. The coating forms a dense and adherent barrier that suppresses oxygen diffusion and mitigates mechanical degradation during cyclic oxidation, demonstrating its potential to improve the long‐term ...

You can patent that? Are patents on computer programs and business methods good for the new economy? [PDF]
In other parts of the economy, firms are increasingly turning to patents to protect not just physical inventions but more abstract ones such as computer programs or ways of doing business.

Mechanically Deposited Wear‐Resistant Amorphous Zr55Cu30Al10Ni5 Coatings
Mechanically deposited from glassy ribbons, the Zr55Cu30Al10Ni5 amorphous coating formed a hard, continuous layer on AISI 1010 steel, tripling substrate hardness, lowering friction, and reducing wear. Despite its rough surface, it showed friction and wear behavior comparable to the crystalline alloy, highlighting its strong potential as a durable ...

A wood‐based magnetic and conductive material called Magwood (MW), capable of blocking almost 99.99% of electromagnetic waves (in the X‐band frequency range), is synthesized using a simple, solvent‐free process. MW is lightweight, resists water, and is flame‐retardant, making it a promising alternative for shielding electronics. The rapid proliferation

Thermoelectric Modules Incorporating MgAgSb and Mg3(Sb,Bi)2 Synthesized Using a Melting Method
A scalable synthesis method for a thermoelectric material of MgAgSb is established. A thermoelectric power module of MgAgSb/Mg3(Sb,Bi)2 is fabricated, showing the conversion efficiency of 7.4% at ΔT = 315 K. The performance is comparable to conventional Bi2Te3 modules when they are operated with an air‐cooled heat exchanger.
