Infrared Detection in Perovskite Solar Cells Enhanced by NaYGdF4:Yb3+, Er3+ Up‐Conversion Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, Volume 7, Issue 5, May 2026.
Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) offer low‐cost photovoltaic and photodetection capabilities but lack near‐infrared (NIR) sensitivity. This work demonstrates their transformation into self‐powered NIR detectors by the integration of hydrothermally synthesized NaYGdF4:Yb3+, Er3+up‐conversion nanoparticles, which enable NIR‐to‐visible conversion.

Evaluating Youth Participatory Action Research in the Americas: Comparative Insights on Empowerment, Methodologies, and Social Change

open access: yesJournal of Adolescence, Volume 98, Issue 3, Page 698-723, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Youth Participatory Action Research (YPAR) positions adolescents as co‐researchers to investigate and address social issues affecting their lives. While YPAR has gained global prominence, comparative research examining how it is conceptualized and practiced across regional contexts remains limited.

The making of novel ecosystems: A process‐based framework for measurement, analysis and application

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution, Volume 17, Issue 3, Page 683-704, March 2026.
Abstract Ecological novelty is emerging rapidly due to global change drivers such as climate shifts, species introductions, defaunation, and land‐use transformation. These changes challenge how we assess, understand and manage ecosystems in the Anthropocene.

Emergent Magnetic Structures at the 2D Limit of the Altermagnet MnTe

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 11, 5 February 2026.
Renewed interest in MnTe has emerged due to its intriguing altermagnetism, a newly identified form of magnetism distinct from conventional ferro‐, antiferro‐, or paramagnetism. By combining magnetic X‐ray absorption spectroscopy, scanning tunnelling microscopy, and first‐principles theory, this study reveals that thinning MnTe to the 2D limit ...

Overcoming barriers to build partnerships for managing plant invasions under global change

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 40, Issue 1, February 2026.
Abstract Non‐native plant invasions are a cross‐boundary conservation challenge, requiring coordinated management and policy responses underpinned by science. Global change is expected to exacerbate this challenge by changing abiotic and biotic drivers of invasive plant distribution, abundance, and impact. Current approaches may no longer be effective,
