Generalized concatenated quantum codes [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review A, 2009
We introduce the concept of generalized concatenated quantum codes. This generalized concatenation method provides a systematical way for constructing good quantum codes, both stabilizer codes and nonadditive codes. Using this method, we construct families of new single-error-correcting nonadditive quantum codes, in both binary and nonbinary cases ...

Spatially coupled serially concatenated codes via parity re‐encoding

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2021
The recently introduced spatially coupled turbo‐like codes are attractive in trading‐off performances between the error‐floor region and the water‐fall region.

A Unified Ensemble of Concatenated Convolutional Codes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We introduce a unified ensemble for turbo-like codes (TCs) that contains the four main classes of TCs: parallel concatenated codes, serially concatenated codes, hybrid concatenated codes, and braided convolutional codes.

Concatenated codes: serial and parallel [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2003. Proceedings., 2003
An analogy is examined between serially concatenated codes and parallel concatenations whose interleavers are described by bipartite graphs with good expanding properties. In particular, a modified expander code construction is shown to behave very much like Forney's classical concatenated codes, though with improved decoding complexity.

Code-Based Cryptography With Generalized Concatenated Codes for Restricted Error Values

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society, 2022
Code-based cryptosystems are promising candidates for post-quantum cryptography. Recently, generalized concatenated codes over Gaussian and Eisenstein integers were proposed for those systems. For a channel model with errors of restricted weight, those q-

Efficient Multiple Concatenated Codes With Turbo-Like Decoding for UEP Wireless Transmission of Scalable JPEG 2000 Images

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Most multimedia source encoders produce scalable bit streams that are vulnerable to noisy channel effects. Unequal error protection (UEP) designs are attractive solutions for such scalable bit streams.

Exact Performance of Concatenated Quantum Codes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
When a logical qubit is protected using a quantum error-correcting code, the net effect of coding, decoherence (a physical channel acting on qubits in the codeword) and recovery can be represented exactly by an effective channel acting directly on the ...

A novel method for encoding and decoding based on enhanced parity-check-concatenated polar codes

open access: yesDianxin kexue, 2021
Polar codes have perfect coding and decoding performance as a kind of error correction code, which have become a standard coding scheme for 5G short code control channel. While the length of polar codes is short, its performance is not good enough.

Generalized concatenation for quantum codes [PDF]

open access: yes2009 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2009
We show how good quantum error-correcting codes can be constructed using generalized concatenation. The inner codes are quantum codes, the outer codes can be linear or nonlinear classical codes. Many new good codes are found, including both stabilizer codes as well as so-called nonadditive codes.
