Concatenating Binomial Codes with the Planar Code

open access: yes, 2023
Rotation symmetric bosonic codes are an attractive encoding for qubits into oscillator degrees of freedom, particularly in superconducting qubit experiments. While these codes can tolerate considerable loss and dephasing, they will need to be combined with higher level codes to achieve large-scale devices.

From concatenated codes to graph codes [PDF]

open access: yesManufacturing Engineer, 2005
We consider codes based on simple bipartite expander graphs. These codes may be seen as the first step leading from product type concatenated codes to more complex graph codes. We emphasize constructions of specific codes of realistic lengths, and study the details of decoding by message passing in trees.

Universal Fault-Tolerant Gates on Concatenated Stabilizer Codes

open access: yesPhysical Review X, 2016
It is an oft-cited fact that no quantum code can support a set of fault-tolerant logical gates that is both universal and transversal. This no-go theorem is generally responsible for the interest in alternative universality constructions including magic ...

The Road From Classical to Quantum Codes: A Hashing Bound Approaching Design Procedure

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2015
Powerful quantum error correction codes (QECCs) are required for stabilizing and protecting fragile qubits against the undesirable effects of quantum decoherence. Similar to classical codes, hashing bound approaching QECCs may be designed by exploiting a

Design of Anti-Eavesdropping Scheme for SLT-LT Codes Based on Random Symbol Sets

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
In recent years, physical layer security technology has provided a new way to solve the problem of secure transmissions in wireless communications from an information theory perspective by using physical layer security coding and the inherent ...

Building a Fault-Tolerant Quantum Computer Using Concatenated Cat Codes

open access: yesPRX Quantum, 2022
We present a comprehensive architectural analysis for a proposed fault-tolerant quantum computer based on cat codes concatenated with outer quantum error-correcting codes.

Performance Improvement of Space Missions Using Convolutional Codes by CRC-Aided List Viterbi Algorithms

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
Recently, CRC-aided list decoding of convolutional codes has gained attention thanks to its remarkable performance in the short blocklength regime. This paper studies the convolutional and CRC codes of the Consultative Committee for Space Data System ...

On the construction and decoding of concatenated polar codes [PDF]

open access: yes2013 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2013
A scheme for concatenating the recently invented polar codes with interleaved block codes is considered. By concatenating binary polar codes with interleaved Reed-Solomon codes, we prove that the proposed concatenation scheme captures the capacity-achieving property of polar codes, while having a significantly better error-decay rate.
