Concatenated codes with convolutional inner codes [PDF]
The minimum distance of concatenated codes with Reed-Solomon outer codes and convolutional inner codes is studied. For suitable combinations of parameters the minimum distance can be lower-bounded by the product of the minimum distances of the inner and outer codes.

Improved adaptive belief propagation algorithm with reduced complexity for concatenated SPC‐RS codes
In this letter, a novel single parity check‐aided minimum sum (SPC‐aided MS) algorithm is proposed. A cascaded compiled code scheme is used to approximate the adaptive belief propagation (ABP) algorithm for Reed–Solomon (RS) codes using the min sum (MS ...

Generalized concatenated quantum codes [PDF]
We introduce the concept of generalized concatenated quantum codes. This generalized concatenation method provides a systematical way for constructing good quantum codes, both stabilizer codes and nonadditive codes. Using this method, we construct families of new single-error-correcting nonadditive quantum codes, in both binary and nonbinary cases ...

Flexible Multilevel Coding With Concatenated Polar-Staircase Codes for M-QAM
In this work, a multilevel coding (MLC) based coded modulation scheme with two degrees of freedom in rate flexibility is proposed and compared with a bit-interleaved coded modulation (BICM) scheme from a performance versus complexity perspective.

Coding in the existential theory of concatenation [PDF]
We will show (Theorem I) that every existentially definable relation over concatenation is diophantine. That is, it can be defined by an existential formula whose matrix is a single equation between terms in concatenation. We show that a) disjunction of diophantine relations is diophantine, and b) that the relation “not equals” is diophantine.

Spatially coupled serially concatenated codes via parity re‐encoding
The recently introduced spatially coupled turbo‐like codes are attractive in trading‐off performances between the error‐floor region and the water‐fall region.

Neural Belief Propagation Decoding of CRC-Polar Concatenated Codes [PDF]
Polar codes are the first class of error correcting codes that provably achieve the channel capacity at infinite code length. They were selected for use in the fifth generation of cellular mobile communications (5G).

A novel method for encoding and decoding based on enhanced parity-check-concatenated polar codes
Polar codes have perfect coding and decoding performance as a kind of error correction code, which have become a standard coding scheme for 5G short code control channel. While the length of polar codes is short, its performance is not good enough.
