Multi-Pass Stamping Forming a Concave Ring

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
To improve the production quality and efficiency of the concave ring, a multi-pass stamping technology is used to replace the spinning technology to form the concave ring.

On the polyhedral cones of convex and concave vectors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Convex or concave sequences of n positive terms, viewed as vectors in n-space, constitute convex cones with 2n − 2 and n extreme rays, respectively.

Shape Optimization of Concave Crossbars to Increase Threshing Performance of Moist Corn Ears

open access: yesAgriculture, 2023
Harvesting of high-moisture corn ears poses a challenge due to the high level of grain damage. In the present study, a series of concaves adapted to moist corn ears threshing was developed and evaluated.

Divergence for s -concave and log concave functions

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematics, 2014
We prove new entropy inequalities for log concave and s-concave functions that strengthen and generalize recently established reverse log Sobolev and Poincare inequalities for such functions. This leads naturally to the concept of f-divergence and, in particular, relative entropy for s-concave and log concave functions.

The suprapubic deepithelialized inferiorly based random flap designed to fill the tissue deficiency at supraumbilical area to prevent the concave deformity in abdominoplasty

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Plastic Surgery, 2019
Introduction: The most critical tissue in abdominoplasty is the midsagittal part of the supraumbilical region with the highest risk of hemodynamic disturbance. Here, the skin is also thinner compared to the neighboring lateral tissues. This may result in

The Effect of Concave-Side Intertransverse Ligament Laxity on the Stress of AIS Lumbar Spine Based on Finite Element Method

open access: yesBioengineering, 2022
(1) Background: Scoliosis has the mechanical characteristic of asymmetric stress distribution, which is one of the reasons for the aggravation of scoliosis. Bracing therapy is the best treatment for AIS, but it is difficult and costly to operate.

Chernoff's density is log-concave [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We show that the density of $Z=\mathop {\operatorname {argmax}}\{W(t)-t^2\}$, sometimes known as Chernoff's density, is log-concave. We conjecture that Chernoff's density is strongly log-concave or "super-Gaussian", and provide evidence in support of the
