The Wnt-target gene Dlk-1 is regulated by the Prmt5-associated factor Copr5 during adipogenic conversion

open access: yesBiology Open, 2015
Protein arginine methyl transferase 5 (Prmt5) regulates various differentiation processes, including adipogenesis. Here, we investigated adipogenic conversion in cells and mice in which Copr5, a Prmt5- and histone-binding protein, was genetically ...

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

The Relational Conception of Practical Authority [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
I argue for a new conception of practical authority based on an analysis of the relationship between authority and subject. Commands entail a demand for practical deference, which establishes a relationship of hierarchy and vulnerability that involves a ...

A reductio of coherentism [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
An argument is presented which shows that coherence theories of justification are committed to a conception of epistemic support which conflicts with an axiom of probability ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

An Improved Robust Fuzzy Algorithm for Unsupervised Learning

open access: yesJournal of Intelligent Systems, 2018
This paper presents a robust, dynamic, and unsupervised fuzzy learning algorithm (RDUFL) that aims to cluster a set of data samples with the ability to detect outliers and assign the numbers of clusters automatically.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Neither ātman Nor anattā: Tapering Our Conception of Selfhood [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
I provide critical discussion of conception of and talk of psychic integration which I take to be both excessive and deficient; these viciously extreme positions are championed by the Apostle Paul and St.
