A novel algorithm for matching conceptual and related graphs

1995
This paper presents a new similarity metric and algorithm for situations represented as graphs. The metric is based on the concept of shared information, and there is discussion of how this would apply for different forms of similarity—including surface, structural and thematic similarity.

Conceptual visual human algorithms: requirement-driven skiing algorithm design

Proceedings of CG International '96, 2002
As the key visual display- and processing- element of information super highway nodes, computer graphics is advancing into dynamic and higher dimensional visual worlds. So is visual algorithms to program visual worlds as the contents of information super highways.

Algorithmic skill vs. conceptual understanding

Educational Studies in Mathematics, 1982
With the help of Pascual-Leone's Theory of Constructive Operators, this study investigated the hypothesis that understanding of the long division algorithm requires a high cognitive level, or greater m-capacity, than does understanding of the fundamental concepts of division.

DynamicWEB: A Conceptual Clustering Algorithm for a Changing World

2011
This research was motivated by problems in network security, where an attacker often deliberately changes their identifying information and behaviour in order to camouflage their malicious behaviour. Addressing this problem has resulted in a new adaption to the unsupervised machine learning technique COBWEB.

A fast 'parsing' algorithm for conceptual clustering

[Proceedings] 1991 Symposium on Applied Computing, 2002
The notion of conceptual clustering was introduced by Michalski in 1980 where he used concepts at a more physical level such as (color='red') and (height='tall') and so on. Shankar et al. explored the possibility of using a knowledge base in the clustering process. They used concepts at one or more levels higher than the physical level.

Conceptual algorithms for analysis of experimental data

Journal of engineering physics, 1980
A study is made of process simulation in inverse situations. Some problems arising in this approach are discussed, and a study is made of the choice of solution form, as well as of solution technique.

Conceptual Search Algorithms for FDB Databases

2017
Information retrieval is a necessary and important process for all information systems. In a traditional database information retrieval is carried out via query languages like SQL using keywords while any conceptual information is ignored. The current research is based on the FDB model which allows the management of any multilingual database both at ...
