Value of MRI Outcomes for Preventive and Early‐Stage Trials in Spinocerebellar Ataxias 1 and 3
ABSTRACT Objective To examine the value of MRI outcomes as endpoints for preventive and early‐stage trials of two polyglutamine spinocerebellar ataxias (SCAs). Methods A cohort of 100 participants (23 SCA1, 63 SCA3, median Scale for the Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) score = 5, 42% preataxic, and 14 gene‐negative controls) was scanned at 3T up ...

TBK1‐Associated Primary Lateral Sclerosis Followed by Right Temporal Variant Frontotemporal Dementia
ABSTRACT We report a 58‐year‐old woman with a novel splice‐site variant in the TANK‐binding kinase 1 (TBK1:c.993–2A>C p.Ala332TyrfsTer39) who sequentially developed primary lateral sclerosis (PLS) followed by right temporal variant frontotemporal dementia (rtvFTD). Neuroimaging demonstrated right anterior temporal atrophy before cognitive symptoms, and

This full-day tutorial introduces conceptual design and a simple, user-centered framework for creating conceptual designs as a basis for organizing the functionality of a product and representing it in the user interface. It covers the purpose, context, benefits, examples, process, and hands-on application of the framework to a sample project.

Design Research as Conceptual Designing: The Manhattan Design Concept
Interacting with Computers, 2015The term ‘conceptual designing’ refers to an activity that various practitioners already undertake, but for which we lack a clear definition. This article provides that definition and uses an example of a design concept called ‘Manhattan’ to present how exactly this type of process happens.

System Design Conceptual Model
2004This chapter presents the foundations of the System Design Conceptual Model (SDCM). The SDCM is a meta-model that serves as a reference model of, and gives a global view and perspective on system design. The SDCM is used to describe system design from the viewpoints of the System Design Process (SDP) and the System Under Design (SUD).
