Inflation persistence during periods of structural change: an assessment using Greek data

open access: yes, 2004
The paper estimates inflation persistence in Greece from 1975 to 2003, a period of high variation in inflation and changes in policy regimes. Two empirical methodologies, univariate autoregressive (AR) modelling and second-generation random coefficient ...

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

Estimating Parameters in Autoregressive Models with Asymmetric Innovations [PDF]

open access: yes
Tiku et al (1999) considered the estimation in a regression model with autocorrelated error in which the underlying distribution be a shift-scaled Student’s t distribution, developed the modified maximum likelihood (MML) estimators of the parameters and ...

Effect of chemotherapy on passenger mutations in metastatic colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Changes in passenger mutation load and predicted immunotherapy response after chemotherapy treatment. Tumor cells rich with passenger mutations have increased sensitivity to chemotherapy. Correlation of passenger mutations with neoantigen load suggests highly mutated clones promote a more effective response to immunotherapy, and therefore, first‐line ...

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

Asymptotic normality of linear functions of concomitants of order statistics

open access: yesMetrika, 1987
Let \((X_ 1,Y_ 1),...,(X_ n,Y_ n)\) be independent and identically distributed random vectors. Denote by \(Y_{[i:n]}\) the Y-variate corresponding to the ith order statistic \(X_{i:n}\) of \(X_ 1,...,X_ n\). In this paper statistics of the form \[ T_ n=n^{- 1}\sum^{n}_{i=1}J(i/n)h(X_{i:n},Y_{[i:n]}) \] are considered.

Molecular characterisation of human penile carcinoma and generation of paired epithelial primary cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Generation of two normal and tumour (cancerous) paired human cell lines using an established tissue culture technique and their characterisation is described. Cell lines were characterised at cellular, protein, chromosome and gene expression levels and for HPV status.
