NKCC1: A key regulator of glioblastoma progression
Glioblastoma (GBM) progression is driven by disrupted chloride cotransporter homeostasis. NKCC1 is highly expressed in stem‐like, astrocytic, and progenitor cells, correlating with earlier recurrence, while overall survival remains unaffected. NKCC1 serves as a prognostic marker and potential therapeutic target, linking chloride transporter imbalance ...

Asymptotics of sliced inverse regression [PDF]
Sliced Inverse Regression is a method for reducing the dimension of the explanatory variables x in non-parametric regression problems. Li (1991) discussed a version of this method which begins with a partition of the range of y into slices so that the ...

Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.

Flexible Rasch Mixture Models with Package psychomix [PDF]
Measurement invariance is an important assumption in the Rasch model and mixture models constitute a flexible way of checking for a violation of this assumption by detecting unobserved heterogeneity in item response data.

Overview of molecular signatures of senescence and associated resources: pros and cons
Cells can enter a stress response state termed cellular senescence that is involved in various diseases and aging. Detecting these cells is challenging due to the lack of universal biomarkers. This review presents the current state of senescence identification, from biomarkers to molecular signatures, compares tools and approaches, and highlights ...

Targeting TNBC: core–shell polycationic polyurea dendrimers with inherent anticancer activity
Core–shell polycationic PURE dendrimers were tested in TNBC‐derived tumor models. Both formulations selectively targeted TNBC and effectively reduced tumor volume. PUREG4‐OEI48 suppressed tumor growth without detectable toxicity, whereas PUREG4‐OCEI24, despite showing efficacy, induced hepatic toxicity.

An Exceptionally Simple Theory of Industrialization [PDF]
Historically, industrialization has been associated with falling relative returns to skills. This fact is at odds with most theories of industrialization, which tend to imply rising skill premia as natural concomitants to economic growth.

The new crowd of the dispossessed: factory layoffs and the informalization of the urban economy [PDF]
This paper contrasts the old "crowd" of the revered urban proletariat from the days of Mao Zedong to the new "crowd" of laid-off workers. It utilizes concepts from the book, CROWDS AND POWER, by Elias Canetti, to characterize the opposed characteristics

Concomitants of Generalized Order Statistics for a Bivariate Exponential Distribution
In this paper we have obtained the distribution of concomitant of order statistics for Bivariate Pseudo–Exponential distribution. The expression for moments has also been obtained. We have found that only the fractional moments of the distribution exist.
