On Minimal Copulas under the Concordance Order [PDF]
AbstractIn the present paper, we study extreme negative dependence focussing on the concordance order for copulas. With the absence of a least element for dimensions $$d\ge 3$$d≥3, the set of all minimal elements in the collection of all copulas turns out to be a natural and quite important extreme negative dependence concept.

Topologically slice knots of smooth concordance order two [PDF]
The existence of topologically slice knots that are of infinite order in the knot concordance group followed from Freedman's work on topological surgery and Donaldson's gauge theoretic approach to 4-manifolds. Here, as an application of Ozsvath and Szabo's Heegaard-Floer theory, we show the existence of an infinite subgroup of the smooth concordance ...

Ribbon concordance and a partial order on S-equivalence classes
Two classical knots are said to be S-equivalent if a Seifert matrix of one is S-equivalent to a Seifert matrix of the other. Another way of stating this is that the Blanchfield pairings are isometric. The author defines a partial order on the set of S-equivalence classes, in terms of the Seifert matrices, and the corresponding partial order on the set ...

Concordance invariants from higher order covers
We generalize the Manolescu-Owens smooth concordance invariant delta(K) of knots K in the 3-sphere to invariants delta_{p^n}(K) obtained by considering covers of order p^n, with p prime. Our main result shows that for any odd prime p, the direct sum of delta_{p^n} as n ranges through the natural numbers, yields a homomorphism of infinite rank from the ...

Concordance of non-invasive serology-based scoring indices and transient elastography for liver fibrosis and cirrhosis in chronic hepatitis C [PDF]
Aim To assess concordance of eight frequently used serology-based scoring indices for liver fibrosis and cirrhosis with transient elastography (TE) in chronic hepatitis C (CHC) patients in order to determine serum indices with the highest concordance ...

Sklar’s theorem, copula products, and ordering results in factor models
We consider a completely specified factor model for a risk vector X = (X1, . . ., Xd), where the joint distributions of the components of X with a risk factor Z and the conditional distributions of X given Z are specified.

Testing for Concordance Ordering [PDF]
We propose inference tools to analyse the concordance (or correlation) order of random vectors. The analysis in the bivariate case relies on tests for upper and lower quadrant dominance of the true distribution by a parametric or semiparametric model, i.e.

Challenges in the translation of legal texts: the case in Kosovo
Our paper conducts a contrastive analysis between Albanian and English lexical units in the language of laws using corpora analysis. It fills a literature gap related to Corpus linguistics in order to better comprehend patterns of legal lexicon.
