Compressive strength model for concrete

Magazine of Concrete Research, 2013
A predictive compressive strength model accounting for the type of cement, cement degree of hydration, aggregates type and gradation, mixtures proportion and air content was developed. This paper presents the formulation, implementation, calibration and validation of the proposed strength model for normal concrete.

Anisotropic Concrete Compressive Strength in Existing Structures

IABSE Reports, 2019
<p>Assessment of the load‐carrying capacity of existing concrete structures is often based on the concrete compressive strength obtained from drilled cores. These cores are typically drilled perpendicular to the concrete surface, under the assumption that the mechanical properties of the concrete are isotropic.

Testing High-Strength Concrete Compressive Strength

ACI Materials Journal, 1993
Comparative testing reveals that high strength concrete (HSC) compressive strength values are greater by 5% when measured on 100 x 200 mm specimens. Moreover, the coefficient of variation on one set of three 100 x 200 mm specimens is as small as, or smaller than that for 150 x 300 mm specimens.

Compressive Strength of Hollow Concrete Masonry

The Masonry Society Journal, 1991
The influence of mortar bedded area on the compressive strength of concrete masonry is investigated based on a review of the results of 224 prism tests presented in five references. In addition, the current ACI/ASCE unit strength method of estimating masonry compressive strength is reviewed and a revised unit strength relationship presented.

Neural prediction of concrete compressive strength

International Journal of Materials and Structural Integrity, 2018
In the past, a few researchers predicted the compressive strength of concrete from its ingredients by employing artificial neural network (ANN). Evaluation of the models with different performance metrics, such as correlation coefficient and errors of estimation, indicated that there was scope for improvement in the prediction performance of ANN.

On compressive strength variation in concrete

Matériaux et Constructions, 1971
The interrelationship of the standard deviation, the coefficient of variation, and the compressive strength of concrete was studied on 32 building sites and 14 ready-mix plants, with more than 30,000 observations analysed. While the standard deviation was found to be practically strength-independent when overall values were considered, the coefficient ...

Numerical Simulation of CSG Concrete Compressive Strength(I)

Advanced Materials Research, 2014
Using numerical analysis to evaluate the mechanical properties of concrete is an important method emerged in recent years. However, some concepts and simulation methods need to be further investigated.

Residual Compressive Strength of Heated Concrete

Architectural Science Review, 1993
Test results of a study designed to analyse the effect of elevated temperatures on the compressive strength of concrete incorporating factors such as water-cement ratio, aggregate-cement ratio, time of exposures are presented. It was shown that water-cement ratio is not a sensitive factor, while the hours of exposure to heat and the concrete mix are.

Relationship between the Compressive Strength of Concrete Masonry and the Compressive Strength of Concrete Masonry Units

Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering, 2015
AbstractThe results of axial compression tests on masonry prisms can be the basis for determining the design capacity of masonry elements since several building codes permit the compressive strengt...
