The traditional linear elastic and Drucker–Prager (DP) models cannot truly reflect the strong nonlinear characteristics of the concrete and rock foundation of the dam under earthquake.

In this paper, we consider the optimization of temperature conditions and the thermo-stressed state of a concrete gravity dam made of extra lean roller-compacted concrete constructed in climate conditions corresponding to the Pskem HPP in the Republic of

The damage to model concrete gravity dams subjected to water explosions
Over the past century, the safety of dams has gradually attracted attention from all parties. Research on the dynamic response and damage evolution of dams under extreme loads is the basis of dam safety issues.

DAM MOVEMENT MODELING BY USING MULTIPLE LINEAR REGRESSION AND ARIMA MODELS [PDF]
Structural health monitoring of the large infrastructural objects (high buildings, bridges, tunnels, dams, etc.) is in the domain of civil and geodetic engineers who use different methods and instruments for this task.

Numerical modelling of Roller Compacted Concrete gravity dams using DIANA
Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) is a special concrete mixture with low cement content; frequently used for concrete gravity dams; compacted by vibratory roller and able to sustain loads during compaction process.

Sensitivity of 3D Base‐Isolated Buildings to Individual Isolator Variability
ABSTRACT Variability in elastomeric isolators arises from differences in rubber formulation and curing, leading to noticeable changes in stiffness and damping among nominally identical bearings. While most previous studies have examined global isolator variability associated with environmental or aging effects, individual isolator variability has ...

Predicting seismic damage on concrete gravity dams: a review
The seismic assessment of concrete gravity dams is a problem of prediction of cracking and the corresponding consequences. With the widespread use of general-purpose finite element programs, the work in the field has shifted towards quantifying the behaviour in a framework for assessment.

Progressive Failure Research on Foundation Surface of Concrete Gravity Dam
Concrete dam safety is one of the hot issues in dam study with the increasing of dam’s scale and height. Sliding failure along foundation surface is a potential failure mode of concrete gravity dam, and this mode is relatively rare in practical ...

Seismic Simulation and Base Sliding of Concrete Gravity Dams
A simplified procedure to estimate possible base sliding of concrete gravity dams induced by an earthquake is proposed on the basis of results obtained by parametric analysis. A simple mechanical model is developed to take into account the most relevant parameters influencing seismic response such as dam-water and dam-foundation interaction.

National Policy Coherence Counts for Reducing Inequality in Global Climate and Development Agendas
ABSTRACT International institutions promote policy coherence as crucial to the effective and fair implementation of global sustainability agendas, though the evidence for its benefits is slim. We present here the first systematic cross‐country dataset on the consequences of national government efforts to promote policy coherence for vulnerable groups ...
