Flexural performance of precast WWCB-filled concrete floor slabs

open access: yesCase Studies in Construction Materials
Wood wool cement board is made of Portland cement as a cross-linking agent, wood fiber as a fiber reinforcement material, and some additives. The precast WWCB-filled concrete floor slabs are a new type of hollow slab. This structure formed by pouring the

Punching Shear Capacity of Recycled Aggregate Concrete Slabs

open access: yesBuildings, 2022
This article investigates the punching shear behavior of recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) two-way slabs. Ten 1500 mm × 1500 mm × 100 mm slabs were tested monotonically.

Systematic Exploration of 3D Concrete Printing Parameters for Conformal Printing on Sloped Surfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A conformal slicing algorithm is developed for robotic 3D concrete printing (3DCP) on sloped surfaces as a first step toward printing slab‐on‐grade foundations on uneven terrain. Systematic experiments quantify the effects of nozzle speed, extrusion rate, and toolpath direction on filament dimension and stability.

Influence of SFRC Layer on Deflections and Cracks of Composite RC Slab

open access: yesArchives of Civil Engineering, 2016
This paper presents an experimental analysis of flexural capacity and deformability of structural concrete slabs prepared as composite members consisting of two concrete layers made of reinforced ordinary concrete (N) and fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC).

Multiferroic‐Centric Materials and Systems Engineering for Battery Applications: An Insight Into Mechanisms, Strategies, and Characterizations

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multiferroic order parameters – polarization, magnetization, and ferroelastic strain – are positioned as dynamic design variables for batteries. Their mechanistic roles, practical tuning through fabrication and external fields, and ferroic‐resolved characterization routes are unified into a closed‐loop framework, revealing how coupled ferroic responses

A Phosphorylation‐Induced Micellization Switch in the Low‐Complexity Domain of TDP‐43

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Phosphorylation of TAR DNA‐binding protein's 43 kDa (TDP‐43) low‐complexity domain by casein kinase 1 delta (CK1δ) acts as a molecular switch, redirecting its self‐assembly from macroscopic phase separation toward finite‐sized, spherical block‐copolymer micelles of ∼30 nm.

Research on the Mechanical Properties and Failure Criteria of Large-Sized Concrete Slabs Under Multi-Axis Stress

open access: yesBuildings
As a key structural component of rockfill dams, the load-bearing capacity of large-sized concrete slabs under complex multi-axial stresses is directly related to the long-term safe operation of the dams.

Breaking point: Identifying the factors that predict suspension from school

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract School suspensions are associated with adverse educational and psychosocial outcomes, yet little is known about how structural disadvantage, relational factors, health behaviours, well‐being indicators and school‐level factors jointly predict suspension risk in England.
