Dynamics of Instantaneous Condensation in the ZRP Conditioned on an Atypical Current

open access: yesEntropy, 2013
Using a generalized Doob’s h-transform we consider the zero-range process (ZRP) conditioned to carry an atypical current, with focus on the regime where the Gallavotti-Cohen symmetry loses its validity.

Electrical neutrality and $\beta$-equilibrium conditions in dense quark matter: generation of charged pion condensation by chiral imbalance

open access: yes, 2020
The phase diagram of dense quark matter with chiral imbalance is considered with the conditions of electric neutrality and $\beta$-equilibrium. It has been shown recently that chiral imbalance can generate charged pion condensation in dense quark matter,

Finite Element Modeling of Residual Stress Formation during Nanosecond Laser Ablation of Stainless Steel

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article investigates residual stress formation during single‐spot nanosecond laser ablation of stainless steel. Experimental validation and a parametric study using finite element simulations are employed to analyze thermal effects, ablation dynamics, and stress evolution.

Synthesis and antimicrobial activity of a new series of 1,4-dihydropyridine derivatives [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2011
A series of 1,4-dihydropyridine derivatives (1a–g) were prepared from Hantzsch syntheses. The compounds 1a–g were reacted with thiosemicarbazide to give the new series of compounds 2a–g. IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, mass spectral and elemental analysis confirmed

Influence of Drainage Holes on Condensation Risk and Air-tightness of Windows. An Experimental Case Study of Triple Glazing PVC Windows

open access: yesJournal of Asian Architecture and Building Engineering, 2017
Triple glazing windows incorporate drainage holes on glazing beads or gaskets to provide a path for condensed water from the inside to the outside. These holes are considered to be effective for draining condensed water but may decrease the air-tightness

Computations of flows with phase change by implicit coupling of vof method and boundary conditions based on kinetic theory

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Science and Technology, 2014
We developed a practical method for the computation of liquid-vapor two-phase flows accompanied by phase change at the interface. In this paper, we propose an intrinsic improvement by introducing a boundary condition at the non-equilibrium interface ...

Sol–Gel Synthesis of Ca2.5Ag0.3Sm0.2Co4O9 Semiconducting Materials for Thermoelectric Applications in Aerospace Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Ca2.5Ag0.3Sm0.2Co4O9 semiconductor materials are synthesized and produced in this study using the sol–gel and cold pressing techniques for thermoelectric generator applications. As template samples are added, the Seebeck coefficient and power factor values rise, peaking at 800 °C for Ca2.5Ag0.3Sm0.2Co4O9 at 274.47 μV K−1 and 0.58 mW mK−2, respectively.
