Triple glazing windows incorporate drainage holes on glazing beads or gaskets to provide a path for condensed water from the inside to the outside. These holes are considered to be effective for draining condensed water but may decrease the air-tightness

We developed a practical method for the computation of liquid-vapor two-phase flows accompanied by phase change at the interface. In this paper, we propose an intrinsic improvement by introducing a boundary condition at the non-equilibrium interface ...

MOLECULAR DYNAMICS STUDY OF THE KINETICS OF CuAu CLUSTERS FORMATION IN THE CONDENSATION PROCESS FROM HIGH TEMPERATURE GASEOUS PHASE [PDF]
Condensation of copper-gold clusters from gas phase at high temperatures was simulated using molecular dynamics. It is shown that the initial density of the metal vapor has a significant influence on the kinetics of cluster structures formation.

Comment on ``Ramsey Fringes in a Bose-Einstein Condensate between Atoms and Molecules'' [PDF]
In Phys. Rev. Lett. 89, 180401 (2002) [cond-mat/0204504], Kokkelmans and Holland interpret the results of a recent experiment at JILA that demonstrated atom-molecule coherence in a Bose-Einstein condensate. Using a mean-field approximation to a resonance field theory involving an atom condensate and a molecular condensate, they find that the molecular ...

The functional properties of Fe–Mn–Si–Cr‐based shape memory alloys are influenced, among other things, by their chemical composition. Here, the vaporization of Mn, the most volatile element of the alloy, is investigated. It is shown that the process parameters make noninterchangeable contributions to the vaporization and that vaporization differences ...

Mesoporous Silica Microspheres by Super‐Fast Alkaline Etching of Micrometer‐Sized Stöber Particles
Microscale silica particles are prepared along with a modified, scalable Stöber synthesis using the continuous addition of tetraethoxy silane to an ethanolic solution of ammonia with KCl. Etching with hydroxide ions at 95 °C gave porous analogs within minutes. Monodisperse particles are isolable in high yield after precipitation in ethanol.

Collapse and Bose-Einstein condensation in a trapped Bose-gas with negative scattering length [PDF]
We find that the key features of the evolution and collapse of a trapped Bose condensate with negative scattering length are predetermined by the particle flux from the above-condensate cloud to the condensate and by 3-body recombination of Bose-condensed atoms.
