Investigating the Dehumidification Characteristics of Turbine Stator Cascades with Parallel Channels

open access: yesEnergies, 2018
Steam turbines play a vital role in the power industry. The efficiency of the steam turbine can be improved by reforming the flow structure. For the White cascade, a parallel channel which is an additional steam passage was designed to connect adjacent ...

Prolonged Corrected QT Interval as an Early Electrocardiographic Marker of Cyclophosphamide‐Induced Cardiotoxicity in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Patients

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Cyclophosphamide (CY) is associated with potentially fatal cardiotoxicity, yet no electrocardiographic indices have been established for early detection of CY‐induced cardiomyopathy. This study aimed to determine whether corrected QT interval (QTc) prolongation can predict early onset of CY‐related cardiac dysfunction in pediatric ...

Hierarchical Bayesian Reliability Model for Wind Turbines with Small Fault Sample Sets

open access: yesZhongguo dianli, 2019
It is beneficial to improve the health management level of the full-life-cycle of wind turbines through establishing the reliability model for wind turbine and estimating its parameter accurately. As the fault sample size of new constructed wind turbines

Monitoring insulator contamination level under dry condition with a microwave reflectometer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
—Build-up of surface contamination on high voltage insulators can lead to an increase in leakage current and partial discharge, which may eventually develop into flashover. Conventional contamination level monitoring systems based on leakage current,

Pathogenic Germline PALB2 and RAD50 Variants in Patients With Relapsed Ewing Sarcoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Approximately 10% of patients with Ewing sarcoma (EwS) have pathogenic germline variants. Here, we report two cases: first, a novel germline pathogenic variant in partner and localizer of BRCA2 (PALB2) in a patient with a late EwS relapse. Its impact on homologous recombination is demonstrated, and breast cancer risk is discussed.

Optimal Sensor Placement and Minimum Number Selection of Sensors for Health Monitoring of Transmission Towers

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2020
Transmission towers are structurally complex, which makes it challenging to choose the right place and number of sensors for health monitoring. In this paper, optimal sensor placement of a cat-head-type transmission tower is conducted by using the ...

Improved Outcomes for Older Children, Adolescents, and Young Adults With Neuroblastoma in the Post‐Immunotherapy Era: An Updated Report From the International Neuroblastoma Risk Group

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background We describe clinical and biologic characteristics of neuroblastoma in older children, adolescents, and young adults (OCAYA); describe survival outcomes in the post‐immunotherapy era; and identify if there is an age cut‐off that best discriminates outcomes.

Pore-Scale Numerical Simulation of Heat Transfer Enhancement of Phase Change Thermal Energy Storage Materials With Porous Foam Metals

open access: yes发电技术, 2018
The low thermal conductivity for most of phase change materials is one of main obstacles in real application. Foam metals can be added into the phase change material to strength heat transfer process because of high thermal conductivity, high porosity ...

Characterizing Parental Concerns About Lasting Impacts of Treatment in Children With B‐Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background B‐acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B‐ALL) is the most common pediatric cancer, and while most children in high‐resource settings are cured, therapy carries risks for long‐term toxicities. Understanding parents’ concerns about these late effects is essential to guide anticipatory support and inform evolving therapeutic approaches ...
