On the Slowly Decreasing Sequences of Fuzzy Numbers

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2013
We introduce the slowly decreasing condition for sequences of fuzzy numbers. We prove that this is a Tauberian condition for the statistical convergence and the Cesáro convergence of a sequence of fuzzy numbers.

Gabor Dual Frames with Characteristic Function Window [PDF]

open access: yesSahand Communications in Mathematical Analysis, 2021
The duals of Gabor frames have an essential role in reconstruction of signals. In this paper we find a necessary and sufficient  condition for two Gabor systems $\left(\chi_{\left[c_1,d_1\right)},a,b\right)$ and $\left(\chi_{\left[c_2,d_2\right)},a,b ...

Optimization of fuzzy linear fractional programming problem with fuzzy numbers [PDF]

open access: yesBig Data and Computing Visions, 2021
In this paper, we consider a Fuzzy Linear Fractional Programming (FLFP) problem under the condition that the objective function and the values of the right-hand side are represented by symmetric trapezoidal fuzzy numbers while the left-hand side ...

The Condition Number of Riemannian Approximation Problems [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Optimization, 2021
We consider the local sensitivity of least-squares formulations of inverse problems. The sets of inputs and outputs of these problems are assumed to have the structures of Riemannian manifolds. The problems we consider include the approximation problem of finding the nearest point on a Riemannian embedded submanifold from a given point in the ambient ...

Improving Preschoolers' Arithmetic through Number Magnitude Training: The Impact of Non-Symbolic and Symbolic Training. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
The numerical cognition literature offers two views to explain numerical and arithmetical development. The unique-representation view considers the approximate number system (ANS) to represent the magnitude of both symbolic and non-symbolic numbers and ...

Condition numbers and their condition numbers

open access: yesLinear Algebra and its Applications, 1995
In this interesting paper condition numbers are treated from the point of view of the unifying definition \[ \text{cond} (A) = \lim_{\varepsilon \to 0_ +} \sup_{\| \Delta A \| \leq \varepsilon \| A \|} {\bigl \| (A + \Delta A)^{-1} - A^{-1} \bigr \| \over \varepsilon \| A^{-1} \|}; \tag{1} \] similarly-defined condition numbers for linear systems are ...

On weak laws of large numbers for maximal partial sums of pairwise independent random variables

open access: yesComptes Rendus. Mathématique, 2023
This paper develops Rio’s method [11] to prove the weak law of large numbers for maximal partial sums of pairwise independent random variables. The method allows us to avoid using the Kolmogorov maximal inequality.

A Simple Algorithm for Prime Factorization and Primality Testing

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, 2022
We propose a new simple and faster algorithm to factor numbers based on the nature of the prime numbers contained in such composite numbers. It is well known that every composite number has a unique representation as a product of prime numbers.

Carcinomas and Carcinoid Tumors of the Lungs and Bronchi in Children and Adolescents: The EXPeRT Recommendations

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Primary lung carcinomas and bronchial carcinoid tumors (BC) are very rare malignancies in childhood. While typical BC and mucoepidermoid carcinomas are mostly low‐grade, localized tumors with a more favorable prognosis than in adults, necessitating avoidance of overtreatment, adenocarcinomas of the lung are often diagnosed at advanced disease ...

Integration of fuzzy logic and geographic weighted regression modeling for enhanced groundwater potential mapping using remote sensing and GIS

open access: yesEnvironmental Sciences Europe
Groundwater resource management is critical in regions with limited surface water availability. Traditional mapping methods often face challenges in addressing spatial heterogeneity and data uncertainties, creating a need for more advanced approaches ...
