Rearing Success Does Not Improve With Apparent Pair Coordination in Offspring Provisioning

open access: yesFrontiers in Ecology and Evolution, 2019
In species with biparental care, behavioral coordination in the provisioning of the progeny is hypothesized to increase the number of offspring that survive to independence. Coordination is often quantified by two metrics, alternation and synchrony. Turn-

Divorced Servicemen's Children and War Conditions

open access: yesLaw and Contemporary Problems, 1944
Observations over a long period prior to the present war warrant the conclusion that in the absence of war conditions the problems pertaining to divorced servicemen's children do not differ materially from the problems of children of other divorced parents. The number of such cases is quite small due to the limited size of peace-time military and naval

Ontology‐Aligned Structuring and Reuse of Multimodal Materials Data and Workflows Toward Automatic Reproduction

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Reproduction of stacking fault energy calculations from literature with a semi‐automated large language model‐assisted extraction procedure: extraction of simulation protocol, atomistic structures, computational parameters, and reported results, ontology alignment, knowledge graph construction and, finally, recomputation forvalidation.

Tuning Mechanoreceptor Signaling Enhances the Adjuvant Effect of Biomaterial Vaccines

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Matrix stiffness serves as an independent immunological signal in biomaterial vaccines. Stiffer microporous hydrogel vaccines enhance dendritic cell maturation and migration to draining lymph nodes, promote T follicular helper cell expansion through Yap/Taz signaling, and increase antigen‐specific antibody production.

Decoupling Activation and Preservation: Architectural Design Principles of Organic Frameworks for Selective Photocatalytic Methane Oxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Selective methane (CH4) photooxidation emerges from architectural decoupling of activation and preservation. Programmable organic semiconductor frameworks spatially organize oxidative flux and intermediate residence, separating reaction zones from product domains to synchronize activation strength with stabilization and establish a selective oxidation ...
