Influence of operating conditions on hydrounit power oscillations
Eurocon 2013, 2013Because of many different instability reasons, power unit stability problems should be analyzed in details for each specific case. This paper describes a specific case of power oscillations problem of hydroelectric power unit with double regulated bulb turbine.

Start-oscillation conditions of tapered backward-wave oscillators
IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, 1963Coupled-mode theory is employed to describe the interaction between nonuniform electron beams and circuits. It is then applied to determine the start-oscillation conditions of a tapered backward-wave oscillator. It is shown that under high space-charge operating conditions where the coupling to the fast space-charge wave is negligible and for weak ...

Analysis of oscillator synchronization conditions
Russian Microelectronics, 2011The problem of determining the synchronization conditions of an arbitrary oscillator by a small periodic arbitrary waveform signal is considered. It is shown that the problem solution can be found from the existence conditions of small-signal linear system solution.

Oscillation Condition and the Uncertainty Principle
2007 IEEE/MTT-S International Microwave Symposium, 2007A new steady state oscillation condition is proposed in this paper. By applying the uncertainty principle to the process of Kurokawa's derivation, the new oscillation condition is derived for three different cases of real and imaginary parts of resonant load, which is a block of two main circuit blocks, consisting of oscillator.

Conditions for mechanical Bloch oscillations
physica status solidi (c), 2005Using the theory for surface waves, the propagation of a disturbance in elastic media is studied. An important and sufficient condition for achieving Bloch oscillations is the variation of the depth of the fluid. This variation produces changes in the refraction index and in the wave number of the disturbance in such a way that those changes exhibit ...

Starting oscillation conditions for gyrotron backward wave oscillators
Physics of Plasmas, 1994A generalized linear theory that allows for mismatched boundary conditions was used in determining the starting oscillation conditions for gyrotron backward wave oscillators (gyro-BWO). The results reveal that the gyro-BWO interaction is normally caused by the interference between a constant-amplitude backward wave and a decaying backward wave.

Oscillation Conditions for a Third-Order Linear Equation
Differential Equations, 2001This paper concerns the third-order linear differential equation \[ u'''+ p(t)u= 0, \] where \(p: [0,+\infty)\to \mathbb{R}\) is a locally integrable function. The main goal of this paper is to prove some integral oscillation criteria for the above-mentioned equation.

Homogenization of Stokes with Neumann condition on oscillating boundary
Asymptotic Analysis, 2019The stationary Stokes problem in a n-dimensional domain with a rapidly oscillating [Formula: see text] dimensional boundary prescribed with Neumann boundary condition and periodicity along the lateral sides is considered. We identify the limit equation in a fixed domain with a one dimensional Laplacian-type problem, satisfied on the region covered by ...

Verifying start-up conditions for a ring oscillator
Proceedings of the 18th ACM Great Lakes symposium on VLSI, 2008Recently, researchers at Rambus proposed a ring-oscillator example as a challenge problem for analog verification: they asked researchers to identify conditions that will ensure that the oscillator is free from lock-up. We present a solution to this challenge problem. Our approach is primarily pencil-and-paper analysis.
