Control of conditional quantum beats in cavity QED: amplitude decoherence and phase shifts

open access: yes, 2013
We implement a simple feedback mechanism on a two-mode cavity QED system to preserve the Zeeman coherence of a ground state superposition that generates quantum beats on the second-order correlation function.

Pattern Formation in Non‐Equilibrium Architected Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This article demonstrates an artificial mechanical system ‐ a robotic metamaterial ‐ as an accessible and versatile platform within which to explore and prescribe the reaction‐diffusion driven pattern formation hitherto associated with comparatively less accessible and versatile non‐equilibrium biological and chemical systems.

A comparison of two causal methods in the context of climate analyses [PDF]

open access: yesNonlinear Processes in Geophysics
Correlation does not necessarily imply causation, and this is why causal methods have been developed to try to disentangle true causal links from spurious relationships. In our study, we use two causal methods, namely, the Liang–Kleeman information flow (

The potential of Shannon entropy to find the large separation of δ Scuti stars: The entropy spectrum

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2022
This study explores the use of Shannon entropy to find periodic patterns in the oscillation spectra of δ Scuti stars. We have developed a new diagnostic tool for detecting potential patterns that scans for minimal entropic states in the well-known ...

Existence of the signal in the signal plus background model

open access: yes, 2006
Searching for evidence of neutrino oscillations is an important problem in particle physics. Suppose that evidence for neutrino oscillations from an LSND experiment reports a significant positive oscillation probability, but that the LSND result is not ...

Stable Imitation of Multigait and Bipedal Motions for Quadrupedal Robots Over Uneven Terrains

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
How are quadrupedal robots empowered to execute complex navigation tasks, including multigait and bipedal motions? Challenges in stability and real‐world adaptation persist, especially with uneven terrains and disturbances. This article presents an imitation learning framework that enhances adaptability and robustness by incorporating long short‐term ...

Hybrid CNN-BiLSTM-Attention Conditional GAN for power system forced oscillation localization

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
Data-driven methods for Forced Oscillation (FO) sources localization in power systems face challenges including limited dataset size, class imbalance, and high data acquisition costs, which limit the ability to train large and sophisticated deep learning

Predictions from a stochastic polymer model for the MinDE dynamics in E.coli

open access: yes, 2009
The spatiotemporal oscillations of the Min proteins in the bacterium Escherichia coli play an important role in cell division. A number of different models have been proposed to explain the dynamics from the underlying biochemistry.

Detecting the harmonics of oscillations with time-variable frequencies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
A method is introduced for the spectral analysis of complex noisy signals containing several frequency components. It enables components that are independent to be distinguished from the harmonics of nonsinusoidal oscillatory processes of lower frequency.

Grounding Large Language Models for Robot Task Planning Using Closed‐Loop State Feedback

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
BrainBody‐Large Language Model (LLM) introduces a hierarchical, feedback‐driven planning framework where two LLMs coordinate high‐level reasoning and low‐level control for robotic tasks. By grounding decisions in real‐time state feedback, it reduces hallucinations and improves task reliability.
