P90Necrotic cardiomyocytes release soluble pro-inflammatory molecule(s) inducing il1r/myd88-dependent inflammatory responses in cardiac fibroblasts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Background: Inflammation comes out to be a critical biological process in the pathophysiology of myocardial infarction (MI). We hypothesize that this inflammation is triggered by necrotic cardiomyocytes (Cmc) that release a set of endogenous molecules ...

A cell-based assay for CD63-containing extracellular vesicles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are thought to be important in cell-cell communication and have elicited extraordinary interest as potential biomarkers of disease. However, quantitative methods to enable elucidation of mechanisms underlying release are few.

Effective therapeutic targeting of CTNNB1‐mutant hepatoblastoma with WNTinib

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
WNTinib, a Wnt/CTNNB1 inhibitor, was tested in hepatoblastoma (HB) experimental models. It delayed tumor growth and improved survival in CTNNB1‐mutant in vivo models. In organoids, WNTinib outperformed cisplatin and showed enhanced efficacy in combination therapy, supporting its potential as a targeted treatment for CTNNB1‐mutated HB.

Human adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cell-conditioned media suppresses inflammatory bone loss in a lipopolysaccharide-induced murine model

open access: yesExperimental and Therapeutic Medicine, 2017
Conditioned media (CM) from mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) contains various cytokines, growth factors and microRNAs, which may serve important roles in modulating the inflammatory process.

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Probing glycosaminoglycan spectral signatures in live cells and their conditioned media by Raman microspectroscopy.

open access: yesIn Analysis, 2017
Spectroscopic markers characteristic of reference glycosaminoglycan molecules were identified previously based on their vibrational signatures. Infrared spectral signatures of glycosaminoglycans in fixed cells were also recently demonstrated but probing ...

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Epidermal Growth Factor Promotes E6 and CCL-81 Vero Cells Proliferation Under Serum-Free Condition

open access: yesJurnal Medik Veteriner
Vero cell culture as a platform for producing viral vaccines is an established and standardized process in vaccine manufacture. Generally, Vero cell culture requires media as a source of nutrition with serum supplementation to provide growth factors ...

Fertilization and early embryology: Differential effect of epithelial cell-conditioned medium fractions on preimplantation mouse embryo development [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Coculture studies using preimplantation embryos have led to a number of conflicting studies. In the human, ethical considerations have led to the preferential use of epithelial cell lines as distinct from human Fallopian tube cells.

Metabolically conditioned media derived from bone marrow stromal cells or human skin fibroblasts act as effective chemoattractants for mesenchymal stem cells

open access: yesStem cell research & therapeutics, 2017
The main goal of bone tissue engineering has been the generation of healthy bone in order to replace affected tissue. Therefore, optimized biomaterials are needed which allow the survival and growth of mesenchymal stem cells.
