Sufficient Conditions for Nonsingular H −matrices
2014For many applications of numerical analysis, control theory, economic mathematics and so on, it is very useful to know whether a matrix is a nonsingular matrix or not. In this paper, by using the theory of diagonally dominant matrices, we discuss some criteria for nonsingular matrices according to partition for the index set of diagonal dominance.

Conditions for Hurwitz stability of interval matrices
Proceedings of IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems - ISCAS '94, 2002Three theorems are presented, which provide simple sufficient conditions for Hurwitz stability of real interval matrices. Outline of the proofs, as well as illustrative examples are discussed and possible further research considered. >

The condition number of certain matrices and applications
1999 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing. Proceedings. ICASSP99 (Cat. No.99CH36258), 1999This paper addresses the problem of estimating the eigenvalues and condition numbers of matrices of the form R=r(t/sub i/-t/sub j/). We begin by mentioning some of the problems in which such matrices occur, and to which the results obtained in this paper may be applied. Examples of such problems include (i) approximation by sums of irregular translates

The condition of gram matrices and related problems
Proceedings of the Royal Society of Edinburgh: Section A Mathematics, 1978SynopsisIt has been known for some time that certain least-squares problems are “ill-conditioned”, and that it is therefore difficult to compute an accurate solution. The degree of ill-conditioning depends on the basis chosen for the subspace in which it is desired to find an approximation. This paper characterizes the degree of ill-conditioning, for a
