Conducting Polymer Metallic Emerald: Magnetic Measurements of Nanocarbons/Polyaniline and Preparation of Plastic Composites

open access: yesC, 2022
Synthesis of polyaniline in the presence of fullerene nanotubes (nanocarbons) in water was carried out with oxidative polymerization. The surface of the sample showed metallic emerald green color in bulk like the brilliance of encrusted gemstones.

Preparation and characterization of electrically conductive composites of poly(vinyl alcohol)–g–poly(acrylic acid) hydrogels impregnated with polyaniline (PANI)

open access: yeseXPRESS Polymer Letters, 2008
Novel electrically conducting composite materials consisting of poly(aniline) (PANI) nanoparticles dispersed in a poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA)-g-poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) hydrogels were prepared within the polymer matrix by in situ polymerization of aniline.

Conducting Polyaniline Nanowire and Its Applications in Chemiresistive Sensing

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2013
One dimensional polyaniline nanowire is an electrically conducting polymer that can be used as an active layer for sensors whose conductivity change can be used to detect chemical or biological species. In this review, the basic properties of polyaniline

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Self-terminated fabrication of electrochemically-gated conducting polymer nanojunctions

open access: yesElectrochemistry Communications, 2020
In this work, we describe a method of controlling the size of a conducting polymer (CP) junction between one ultramicroelectrode (UME) and a substrate electrode using a scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM) configuration with a variable resistor ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.
