AbstractInspired by Aristotle and modern political theory,Fairclough and Fairclough (2012)introduce a model into Political Discourse Analysis (PDA) on the basis of deliberation and conductive argumentation (reasoning). This study makes an attempt to appraise the efficacy and adequacy of this model through examining Trump’s UN speech on Iran in 2017 in ...

Homotopy arguments for quantized Hall conductivity
Journal of Mathematical Physics, 2001Using the strong localization bounds obtained by the Aizenman–Molcanov method for a particle in a magnetic field and a disordered potential, we show that the zero-temperature Hall conductivity of a gas of such particles is quantized and constant as long as both Fermi energy and disorder coupling parameter vary in a region of strong localization of the ...

A Conductive Chemistry Online Argumentation Courseware with Website Exploring Support
2015 IEEE 15th International Conference on Advanced Learning Technologies, 2015There is considerable disagreement among researchers about chemistry learning approach. Some have been said to demonstrate an individual advantage, some a social advantage. While there is a great deal of general literature on this field, however, the specific web-based conductive learning is relatively unexplored.

Arguments for electron conduction in silicon nitride
IEEE Electron Device Letters, 1984The carrier type conducted in the nitride under + V G has been interpreted as an electron by some and as a hole by others. Under - V G hole conduction is generally accepted. Our I-V data on the Si 3 N 4 dielectric agree with those reported in the literature but we interpret the nitride conduction as electron flow for both + V G and - V G .

Arguments for ionic nature of the Carpathian electric conductivity anomaly
Acta Geophysica, 2008This publication is a contribution to discussion on the geometry and petrography of the rock complex responsible for the Carpathian conductivity anomaly. We analysed arguments showing that this anomaly is caused by induction in the sedimentary basin, and make a critical review of various data to find out whether the good conductivity is connected with ...

Multifunctionality of hand gestures and material conduct during closing argument
Gesture, 2016Closing argument represents the most crucial part of the adversarial system of justice. For attorneys, it provides an opportunity to showcase their persuasive skills through the full range of semiotic resources at their disposal. While studies of legal discourse have examined speech performance, few studies, if any, have analyzed how speech integrates ...

Validity in Conductive Arguments
2017An appeal to features of some case in support of attribution of some status to that case is non-conclusively valid if and only if it is not conclusively valid but any case with those features either has the status or has some overriding negatively relevant feature not implied by lacking the status.

An Arrhenius Argument to Explain Electrical Conductivity Maxima versus Temperature
ECS Transactions, 2013The existence of conductivity maxima in pure molten salt was interpreted by Grantham and Yosim to be due to ion association at low densities. Tödheide used a chloride-transfer shifting-equilibrium hypothesis to explain ion association in the case of bismuth trichloride. We have performed density-functional-theory based molecular dynamics simulations of

[Arguments against conduction anesthesia in children].
Cahiers d'anesthesiologie, 1996Regional anaesthesia has been increasingly popular in paediatric patients of all ages, especially because some techniques afford excellent per and post-operative pain relief. However, side effects may occur. Particularly, systemic toxicity from bupivacaine administration is associated with intravascular injection or overdosage.

Conductive Argumentation, Degrees of Confidence, and the Communication of Uncertainty
2015We argue in this paper that there is an epistemic obligation to communicate the appropriate degree of confidence when asserting conclusions in conductive argumentation. This runs contrary to the position of those theorists who contend that once the conclusion to a conductive argument is drawn, it is simply asserted in an unqualified manner.
