Abstract Background This study presents the diagnois, management, and tissue response to an acute periodontal lesion with deep pocketing affecting a maxillary central incisor in a young patient devoid of caries or a history of periodontitis. Methods Clinical and radiographic examinations facilitated the diagnosis of the pathology as an endoperiodontal ...

Three‐ to 4‐year follow‐up of the reverse palatal pedicle graft for maxillary palatal recessions
Abstract Background This study evaluates the long‐term stability and clinical outcomes of the reverse palatal pedicle graft (RPPG) technique in treating maxillary molar palatal recessions over a 3 to 4‐year follow‐up period. Methods Three patients with palatal recession defects on maxillary molars were treated using the RPPG technique.

Management of post‐implant fibrous dysplasia in the maxilla: A case study
Abstract Background Fibrous dysplasia is generally rare, and even rarer in older adults. Special care is needed when altering the alveolar bone in these cases, especially if an implant is involved. This case study highlights such a scenario. Methods This case study details the experience of a 63‐year‐old African American female who presented with a ...

Guided transpositional bone blocks in esthetic zone: Surgical technique and case report
Abstract Background The ultimate objective of implant dentistry is to position the implant in a three‐dimensional, prosthetic‐driven location. This case highlights a guided approach for harvesting and positioning an autogenous bone block to restore a horizontal bone defect in the anterior maxilla.

The influence of gas diffusion layer (GDL) microstructures on mass transport and methylcyclohexane saturation (MCH) in a dehydrogenation cell was investigated using pore network modeling. We reveal that GDLs with larger pore diameters (dpore) and lower tortuosity (τ) enable enhanced MCH invasion, thereby improving reactant concentration at the catalyst.

Experimental methods in chemical engineering: Electron probe micro‐analysis—EPMA
ABSTRACT Electron probe microanalysis (EPMA) is a non‐destructive spectroscopic technique to map the chemical composition—quantitative elemental distribution and layer thickness—with a micro‐scale resolution. An electron beam illuminates the surface of a sample and produces backscattered electrons (BSE), secondary electrons (SE), characteristic X‐rays,

Metamer Mismatching Predicts Color Difference Ellipsoids
ABSTRACT It is well known that color‐discrimination thresholds vary throughout color space, as is easily observed from the familiar MacAdam ellipses plotted in chromaticity space. But why is this the case? Existing formulations of uniform color spaces (e.g., CIELAB, CIECAM02, CAM16‐UCS) and their associated color‐difference DE metrics are all models ...
