Cone penetration test dataset Premstaller Geotechnik. [PDF]
The dataset contains 1339 cone penetration tests (CPT, CPTu, SCPT, SCPTu) executed within Austria and Germany by the company Premstaller Geotechnik ZT GmbH. As a first processing step, core drillings, located within a maximum distance of approximately 50 m to the insitu tests, were assigned to these cone penetration tests, which allow an interpretation

The piezometer cone penetration test
Deep quasi-static cone penetration tests in saturated soils can develop large excess pore pressures. The level and sign of the excess pore pressures depend on the volume change characteristics, the strength and the permeability of the soil. The recent addition of pore pressure measurements during cone penetration testing adds a new dimension to the ...

Discussion of ‘‘Re-Examination of Undrained Strength at Atterberg Limits Water Contents’’ by H.B. Nagaraj, A. Sridharan & H.M. Mallikarjuna [PDF]
Having recently investigated soil strength at the Atterberg limits, the discussers read the paper by Nagaraj et al. (2012) with interest. Whilst some of the conclusions of the paper concur with those of our own work, there are other areas in which we ...

Hydraulic and mechanical properties of glacial sediments beneath Unteraargletscher, Switzerland: implications for glacier basal motion [PDF]
The force on a ‘ploughmeter’ and subglacial water pressure have been measured in the same borehole at Unteraargletscher, Switzerland, in order to investigate ice–sediment coupling and the motion at the base of a soft-bedded glacier.

Interpretation of cone penetration test data in layered soils using cavity expansion analysis [PDF]
Cavity expansion theory plays an important role in many geotechnical engineering problems, including the cone penetration test (CPT). One of the challenges of interpreting CPT data is the delineation of interfaces between soil layers and the ...

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...
