Structure and photoionization of confined atoms

Radiation Physics and Chemistry, 2004
Abstract Phenomenological approaches on the basis of simple model potentials for the description of various situations where the atom is spacially confined, such, e.g., as atoms inside a C60-like environment or in impenetrable cavities of small radii are reviewed along with the trends in modifications in structure and photoionization of such confined

Confined muonic hydrogen-like atoms

The European Physical Journal D, 2021
A muonic hydrogen-like atom is formed when replacing the electron in it by a negative muon $$\mu ^-$$ . The Schrodinger equation corresponds to the one of the atoms with a binding particle

Atom confinement in a laser open atomizer

Applied Optics, 1989
We have investigated the effects of a buffer gas (air) on the vapor plume produced in a laser open atomizer using atomic absorption spectroscopy. The absorption signal is related to the concentration of absorbing species by a modified Beer-Lambert equation in which the buffer gas pressure and temperature and the diameter of the diffusing species appear

Confined quantum systems: The parabolically confined hydrogen atom

Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and General, 1998
Summary: We investigate a hydrogen-like atom (or any other system with a Coulomb potential) confined to a space which is bounded by a paraboloid. The nucleus of the atom resides at the focus of the paraboloid and we require the electronic wavefunction to vanish on the paraboloid.
