Spectra of confined two-electron atoms
Journal of Physics B: Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics, 2001Spectra of two electrons confined in a spherically symmetric potential of mixed Coulomb and harmonic form are studied using the Hartree-Fock and configuration interaction methods. The model studied corresponds to a two-electron atom confined in a harmonic oscillator potential.

On the shell‐confined atom problem
International Journal of Quantum Chemistry, 2018AbstractThe properties of spherically symmetric, one‐electron atomic systems are analyzed for the systems where the electron is placed in the region between two impenetrable concentric spheres of radii Rint and Rext. The changes in the structure of the energy levels of low‐lying electron states and the corresponding variations in radial wave functions ...

Hydrogen atom confined to an ellipsoid
Journal of Physics B: Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics, 2001We have analysed the properties of a hydrogen atom at the focus of a confining, prolate ellipsoid. This system is separable in terms of elliptic coordinates, and has the unusual property that the solution is a product of two identical functions of elliptic coordinates.

Spontaneous emission of a confined atom
SPIE Proceedings, 1993Modifications of a natural emission line of a free atom, due to its concentrated center of mass wave-function, have been studied. The Doppler shifts, associated with the corresponding momenta distribution of the wave packet, are responsible for the shape of the emitted line.

Turbulence and atomic physics in magnetically confined plasmas
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2017An overview of issues related to the interplay between atomic process and turbulence in the peripheral regions of magnetically confined fusion devices is presented. Both atomic processes and turbulence play key roles for fusion, but have most of the time been treated separately.

A Study of Confined Helium Atom
Communications in Theoretical Physics, 2007The helium atom confined by a spherical parabolic potential well is studied employing the adiabatic hyperspherical approach method. Total energies of the ground and three low-excited states are obtained as a function of the confined potential radii. We find that the energies of a spherical parabolic potential well are in good agreement with those of an

Spectra of Confined Atoms and Molecules
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2003The properties of spectra of atoms and molecules confined by an external potential are analyzed. The effects of spatial confinement are studied using quantum‐chemical models. The confinement of the system is described by an external one‐particle potential.
