Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Ultra-Low-Loss Hollow-Core Bragg Antiresonant Fiber With Super Bandwidth Transmission Window

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2022
A novel hollow-core antiresonant fiber with a Bragg structure is proposed. It is numerically simulated using a commercial finite element method, and optical properties of the fiber, such as mode field, confinement loss, and bend loss, are numerically ...

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Nanoporous PMMA: A novel system with different acoustic properties [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The acoustic properties of closed cell nanoporous and microporous poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) foams have been well characterized, showing that nanoporous PMMA exhibit a different absorption coefficient and transmission loss behavior in comparison ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Azimuthal Fourier decomposition for loss analysis of hollow-core tube lattice fibers, Part II: Tube thickness variation effects

open access: yesResults in Optics
The effect on confinement loss of thickness variations along the perimeter of the tubes composing the cladding of inhibited-coupling guiding Tube Lattice hollow-core fibers is investigated by using the Azimuthal Fourier Decomposition technique (developed

Overview of Charm Physics at RHIC [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Heavy-quark production provides a sensitive probe of the gluon structure of nucleons and its modication in nuclei. It is also a key probe of the hot-dense matter created in heavy-ion collisions.
