Magnetic and Electric Pressure in a Confined Plasma†
Journal of Electronics and Control, 1962The usual hydromagnetic equations are applied to a fully ionized two- fluid bounded plasma with uniform temperature in a magnetic bottle. The condition of equilibrium is shown to imply a gaussian distribution of plasma density, and internal magnetic and electric fields, with non-zero charge density throughout the plasma.

Q Measurements under Confining Pressure
1979Birch and Bancroft [1] demonstrated the feasibility of resonating a rock sample under hydrostatic pressure by vibrating the fully encapsulated samples in the torsional mode. They used this approach to obtain some Q data and extensive data on the modulus of rigidity as a function of pressure for a wide variety of rock samples.
