Anthropometric data reduction using confirmatory factor analysis

open access: yesWORK: A Journal of Prevention, Assessment & Rehabilitation, 2014
OBJECTIVE: The unavailability of anthropometric data especially in developing countries has remained a limiting factor towards the design of learning facilities with sufficient ergonomic consideration. Attempts to use anthropometric data from developed countries have led to provision of school facilities unfit for the users.

Data-Driven Subgroup Identification in Confirmatory Clinical Trials

Therapeutic Innovation & Regulatory Science, 2021
Data-driven subgroup analysis plays an important role in clinical trials. This paper focuses on practical considerations in post-hoc subgroup investigations in the context of confirmatory clinical trials. The analysis is aimed at assessing the heterogeneity of treatment effects across the trial population and identifying patient subgroups with enhanced

Expert Systems for Confirmatory Data Analysis

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1987
Abstract In statistics, estimation in linear models generally requires the classical hypotheses. Given a table of data, an expert system could test the presence or absence of various hypotheses, and associate an adequate estimator to most of the combinations.

Missing Data in Confirmatory Clinical Trials

Journal of Biopharmaceutical Statistics, 2009
Missing data for key efficacy and safety endpoints in clinical trials have the potential to undermine the scientific integrity of the study and prevent definitive conclusions regarding the safety and efficacy of an experimental product. Much of the missing data is the result of poor protocol design and a lack of agreement in the scientific community ...

Confirmatory factor analyses of the WAIS–III standardization data.

Psychological Assessment, 2000
Confirmatory factor analyses with the standardization data of the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale-Third Edition (Wechsler, 1997a) compared 6 models with 1 to 4 factors for 11- and 13-subtest versions of the test. Three factors usually fit the data better than 2 factors, but 2-factor models were more parsimonious.

Development of the Relational Ageism Scale: Confirmatory Test on Survey Data

The International Journal of Aging and Human Development, 2019
The objective of the study is to test a refined measure of attitudes about aging as a multidimensional construct reflective of a relational process that includes personal identity (i.e., beliefs about oneself), social identity (i.e., self-conception based on group membership), and collective identity (i.e., self-conception based on comparison of groups)

The Quest for Confirmatory Data in Crime Scene Investigations

The Chemical Educator, 2016
In today’s complex world a forensic chemist may prefer any physical evidence linking or exonerating a suspect from a crime scene to a false confession. This article utilizes forensic chemistry experimental approaches designed and implemented in an instructional workshop setting to present a unique perspective of certain facets of a crime scene ...
